“For God So Loved That He Gave!”
Y’all have read my report that at this time every year, my Mother would go around singing a Christmas tune from old England that was passed down through time to her.
“Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat,
Would you please put a penny in the old man’s hat?
If you haven’t got a penny, then a half penny will do;
If you haven’t got a half penny, then God bless you!”
At Christmas time, I am always looking for the old man and his hat.
You are all Cheerful Givers. You know and understand the joy that comes from giving and the promises that Holy Spirit has made and executed for You.
(Luke 6:38 and 2Corinthians9:6-14)
“God loves above all, and is unwilling to do without a cheerful and prompt to do it giver.”
Throughout the years, you have been tremendously faithful and generous givers to Throne of Grace and KnowJesusKnowGrace.com. Because of your obedient hearts, we have been able to deliver the True Gospel of “Good News of Great Joy Which Shall Be To All People, to millions of folks here and around the world. For that, we are eternally and sincerely grateful to you. So is our King.
You, wonderful team members, give every day. You are blessed to know that feeling that folks who do not give will never experience. You know the Joy that God brings to those who give.
God promised to multiply our seed sown. He never fails to keep His promises. There are the seeds of sharing the Gospel, belief, love, hope, time, compassion, forgiveness, mercy, peace, knowledge of the Love of Jesus, finances, encouragement, kindness, compassion, listening, and material gifts.
Being a cheerful giver is a condition of the heart. Cheerful givers give for many reasons. One of these is the entrenched belief that God lavished us with His gifts, including dying the most painful and horrible death any human being could ever experience to prove His love for us. Another is a dug-in practice of obeying Jesus’s directive to do unto others as we would have them do unto us. Some cheerful givers give because they firmly believe that it is impossible to outgive God, which happens to be the Truth.
Sadly, only 10% of those who attend church give 90% of the offerings the church receives. The main reason people do not give is fear of financial insecurity. They believe that if they offer, they will not have. As you all know, the complete opposite is true. Some do not give out of plain old stinginess and greed.
Holy Spirit taught us that those who give sparingly, grudgingly, and out of compulsion reap sparingly and that those who give generously and cheerfully and out of the abundance of their hearts, reap generously. You all know this to be true.
At this time of year, knowing that there are many needs to be met, we significantly increase what we give compared to other times. We follow the guidance of Holy Spirit to help needy families and others He guides us to support. He is always faithful to provide us with the funds to do that and to multiply what we give.
We are so blessed and grateful, especially at this time of the year, to each of you for choosing to put a penny in the hat of Throne of Grace/
