One of you faithful Golden Givers wrote me asking the following:
“Things in the world are surely crazy. This war with Iran is truly good versus evil, and for the life of me, I can not understand how people hate Jews and love these countries that support Hamas and terror groups like them.
We have people in the US who also hate our country and our way of life, and these people are evil and very dangerous. They are in Congress and other power centers.
I would surely like to know what Jesus thinks of these people and how He advises we should deal with them. I have people right here in my community who are BIG democrats. I can not for the life of me understand what in the world they are thinking. They seem to be good people and family folks…but hate everything conservative. Why? Your thoughts?
Here they are: This spiritual war that we were born into began at the beginning, with Lucifer rebelling against God and deceiving one-third of the angels in Heaven into joining him. They were thrown to earth and mated with humans, and the gene of evil spread.
Two forces are perpetually at war all around us. Good and evil. Light and darkness. Until Jesus returns and puts a stop to it, there always will be. But as Jesus directed us, we should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world, and the darkness never has, can not, and never will overcome the light.
Hamas is the army of Islam. Islam is a cancerous fictional religion born of the bitter hatred of Ishmaelites who falsely believed they had been rejected by the One and Only God because Abraham refused to give Ishmael his birthright because he was the son of a pagan slave; they created their own god. It is a religion that demands that its followers kill, convert, and steal from those who do not accept their insane notions. They are the tools of those who hate Christians and Jews.
Here in America, they are promoted by the anti-establishment, anti-conservative, anti-capitalist, loons of the left. It is fashionable among those who promote and accept bitterness, jealousy, envy, resentment, and class warfare to reject the core values that made America the greatest nation on earth and to rail against them. The weak-minded have always been the prey of the evil one.
To exacerbate the situation, God did not want a planet of automotons, so He gave us free will. God gave us the ability to choose between life and death, good or evil. Jesus reiterated it in John 3:18.
It’s a war of the worlds. People choose between the temporary pleasures of earthly rewards and eternal rewards.
Strangely, some rebel against the God who loves them eternally and died for them. Some even deny the existence of their creator, which is the definition of insanity. They know better. There is no such thing as an atheist. Why? God implanted in every living thing the knowledge of Himself, and because Jesus and God are the same, the knowledge of Jesus and His love. So they can rebel against God and deny His existence, but they can not deny the knowledge that their claims are false.
(Romans 1:19-20)
Here is a question that King David asked and answered:
Why do the heathen (the Godless)rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against His anointed, (Speaking prophetically about Jesus) saying,
Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.”
(Psalm 2(1-3)
The definition of that word, derision, is very interesting.
“The act of holding someone with contempt, scorn, or bitter ridicule. Involves using sneering, jeering, or mockery to discredit, demean, or make worthless.
That is God’s response to them. I don’t want to be in that group, but many are.
WHAT CAN WE DO?
Guard our minds. Focus on all the wonderful things happening in the world. Choose to be positive and practice joy and gladness with vigor. Believe all of the promises of Jesus and walk in them so that we are an attraction to those who worship false gods.
Teach everyone we are given the opportunity to bless how much Jesus loves them, just the way they are. Teach and demonstrate the lifestyle Jesus presented to us.
THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE LOVE OF JESUS IS THE MOST POWERFUL ANTEDOTE FOR THE EVIL WE SEE.
Jesus instructed us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. He commanded that we forgive and pray for those who spitefully use us. Jesus told us to do unto others as we would have them do unto us. He told us to turn the other cheek.
THAT DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE TO BE ABUSED OR BE COWARDLY IN OUR WAR AGAINST EVIL
It simply means that we are to respond to abusers in a non-violent but powerful way. In martial arts, the students are taught to leverage the attacker’s energy against them. That is what teaching the Gospel does.
“I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore, be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.“ (Matthew 10:16)
I feel led by Holy Spirit, to recommend the Serenity Prayer coined by the wonderful folks at Alcoholics Anonymous that has restored millions to sobriety and sanity.
“GOD, GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CAN NOT CHANGE, THE COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN, AND THE WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.“
