Pay attention to this profound declaration to us from Holy Spirit through our anointed teacher, Paul:
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in times past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by his Son, Whom He has appointed heir of all things, by Whom also He made the worlds;
Who, being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
(Hebrews 1:1-3)
The Greek word “katharizō” (meaning to cleanse or purify, to remove, to completely take away, to thoroughly remove) is used to describe the spiritual work of Jesus and Holy Spirit.
Did you get the part about sitting down? Meditate on that for a while. He sat down at the right hand of God because He finished His work. Once and for all. He doesn’t need to come back and do it again because you sinned.
ARE YOU STILL TRYING TO PAY FOR YOUR SINS
by being good and begging God to forgive you when He has already forgiven you?
Jesus had His back ripped off by a whip and died on the cross to forgive us of all of our sins, past, present, and future, once and for all! Why? To prove His eternal love for us as individuals, yes, you personally.
(Romans 5:8)
Modern-day Pharisees and Sadducees want you to believe that you have to earn your relationship with God and your salvation, as if that were possible. Yet how can these prestigious pundits not know the TRUTH? Here is the TRUTH: God forgave all of our sins, past, present, and future, once and for all, and He has no scorecard.
“For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”
(Hebrews 8:12)
And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus once for all.
Day after day, every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again, he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God, and since that time He waits for his enemies to be made his footstool.
For by one sacrifice, Jesus has made perfect forever those who (those who believe, and believe in Jesus. John 3:14-16, John 6:28-29, Romans 10:9-10) are being made holy.
The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First, he says:
This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put My Words in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”
Then He adds:
Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more.
And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.’
(Hebrews 10:10-18)
John the Baptist, upon seeing Jesus in a crowd of folks waiting to be baptized in the Jewish tradition:
“Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”
(John 1:29)
John, the disciple of Jesus, after seeing His risen countenance on the Isle of Patmos, while praying in the Spirit and falling into a Holy Spirit trance.
“John, to the seven churches that are in [the province of Asia, now Turkey): Grace to you and peace from Him Who was and is and is to come, the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, and from the seven Spirits that are before His throne, and from Jesus, the faithful and trustworthy Witness, the Firstborn of the dead, and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who always loves us and Who has once for all freed us from our sins by His own blood.
(Revelation 1:4-5)
JESUS HAS MADE US HOLY, UNBLAMEABLE, AND BEYOND CORRECTION IN HIS SIGHT, ONCE AND FOR ALL. (Colossians 1:22)
Convinced yet? Why does religion fight so hard against the TRUTH? Why must they make salvation and receiving the blessings that Jesus lavished on us, about what we do, not what Jesus has already done?
There is a long answer to that question. That is a subject for another message. Until then, believe that Jesus loved you so much that He proved it by dying the worst death ever to pay for your sins.
