AT THE SPEED OF THOUGHT

The Old Hymn, “I saw the Light,” is running through my mind. It is a remarkable confession by Hank Williams. Some of you may remember the tune.

Here are the Lyrics:

“I wandered so aimless, life filled with sin

I wouldn’t let my dear savior in

Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night

Praise the Lord, I saw the Light

[Chorus]

I saw the Light, I saw the Light

No more darkness, no more night

Now I’m so happy, no sorrow in sight

Praise the Lord, I saw the Light

[Verse 2]

Just like a blind man, I wandered along

Worries and fears I claimed for my own

Then, like the blind man that God gave back his sight

Praise the Lord, I saw the Light

[Chorus]

I saw the Light, I saw the Light

No more darkness, no more night

Now I’m so happy, no sorrow in sight

Praise the Lord, I saw the Light

[Verse 3]

I was a fool to wander and a-stray

Straight is the gate and narrow the way

Now I have traded the wrong for the right

Praise the Lord, I saw the Light!

We know that Jesus is the Light of the World. We know that the evil one is the darkness. We can move from one to the other at the speed of thought.

Have you ever been cruising along with Jesus, standing strongly with Him, believing Him, Trusting Him, being led by Him, consuming His Words and operating in them; then suddenly find yourself receiving negative thoughts and visions, falling into fear, anxiety, worry, doubt, unbelief, self focus, anger, resentment, bitterness, unforgiveness, guilt and shame?

We can also return to Him at the speed of thought, which, by the way, is how we will operate in our next life.

Jesus knows everything about us. He created us. He knows how we roll. That is why He instructed us to live in this present moment. He, having been tempted at every point that we are tempted, and yet remaining without sin, knows how we feel and think.

Jesus is also aware of how the evil one and his minions, and the voices and news that we are bombarded with daily, affect us. That is why He is with us every moment. He is always there for us to return to. He even gave us His Holy Spirit to guide us into all Truth and show us the things that are to come, at the speed of thought.

Our flesh minds are not always the portal to evil. Depending on the voices we hear and the story we tell ourselves, they can attach to good thoughts and focus on the Truth.

It’s amazing how our Creator, God the Father, God Jesus, and God Holy Spirit gave us the free will to walk in Light or darkness. It was because He did not want us to be slavish robots. He wants us to come to Him, not grudgingly or mechanically or out of compulsion, but cheerfully and led of our hearts as He is led by His.

When you feel yourself wandering into the darkness, run back to the Light, the Words of Jesus, the voice of Holy Spirit, at the speed of thought.

A message to us from Holy Spirit through our anointed teacher, Paul:

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore, do not become partners with them, for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of Light for the fruit of Light is found in all that is good and right and true,  and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.

(Ephesians 5:6-9)

There are some of us on this team who have had close encounters with the Light. It is an experience that human words can not describe. But all of us can walk in the Light. It’s a choice we make at the speed of thought.
