From Where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,

The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all evil;
He will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in,
from this time forth and forevermore.
(Psalm 121)
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
For He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
But it will not come near you.
(Psalm 91:1-7)
These two prophetic promises from David, given to Him by Holy Spirit, foretell the relationship that those of us who believe and believe in Jesus have with God the Father, God Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit.
(John 3:14-18, John 6:28-29, Romans 10::9-10)
Consider this painful Truth from Jesus, not just to those in Jerusalem who reject Him, but to those who reject Him today.
“Oh, Israel, Israel, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.”
(Matthew 23:27)
In this scripture, Jesus expresses His love for His children and His sorrow that they have rejected the messengers of God, including Himself, who God sent to bless and save them. He is also offering to take us under His wings if only we choose to believe and believe in Him.
Today’s world is at war with itself. There is an ongoing and furious battle between the forces of Good and evil.
We do not have the option to sit it out. We must choose one side or the other. We didn’t start this war, and we will not end it.
The purveyors of modern-day information profit from boiling it up. We are bombarded daily with the bad news they love and inspire. They are wittingly or unwittingly serving the desires of the evil one in turning God’s children against each other.
I believe that we are witnessing the beginning of the birth pangs that Jesus described. I also think that the assassination of Charlie Kirk ignited the outpouring and the worldwide teaching of the Gospel that Jesus prophesied. That may or may not be the case. However, we do not have to be afraid of current events.
NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS OR WHEN IT HAPPENS…
Jesus loves us individually, regardless of our behavior, so much that He died to prove it. Jesus has taken fear out of our lives. When we believe and believe in Him, we can rest in His shadow and under His wings. How wonderful is that? (Romans 5:8)
