“Listen to me, you descendants of Jacob,
all the remnant of the people of Israel,
You whom I have upheld since your birth,
and have carried since you were born.
Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you, and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and rescue you.”
(Isaiah 46:3)
That would be us! Those who believe and believe in Jesus are the remnant of the people of Israel. We are the ones to whom the Great and Precious Promises of Jesus have been given. Jesus is our King, as He is and always has been the King of the Jews and all people. He is God Almighty, The Great I am, The Everlasting God. And of His reign there will be no end!
“IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, AND THE WORD (Jesus) WAS WITH GOD AND THE WORD WAS GOD!”
IF YOU HAD KNOWN ME, YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN MY FATHER. FROM NOW ON, YOU KNOW HIM AND HAVE SEEN HIM.”
(John 14:7)
Jesus is the same God who gave this promise to us through the Prophet Isaiah. He was in the beginning and will be forever! He is the beginning, the Alpha, and the end, the Omega. Jesus is the same God who created and maintains all things. He has made us this promise, and He is the Truth!
He has promised us that even unto our old age, as some of us have entered into, that He will sustain us and rescue us,
The word sustain means to:
Give support to, nourish, keep up, prolong, provide sustenance (means of sustaining or supporting life and health, especially food and drink and livelihood), and rescue us (from whatever we need to be rescued from)
God the Father, God Jesus, and God Holy Spirit made this promise before Jesus guaranteed His Great and Precious Promises with His Blood. Jesus’s death on the cross completely fulfilled the prophecy. At that very instance, Jesus gave us ALL THINGS that pertain to life and godliness.
(2Peter1:1-4)
So the promise has gone from the future tense to the present tense, meaning it has been fulfilled. Jesus isn’t going to do anything because He already did everything. That is why He loudly proclaimed on the cross. “IT IS FINISHED!” Thank You, Lord!
