Mothers have a love that no others can understand. They are willing to sacrifice everything they have, including their very lives, if necessary to nurture their children.
Their sacrifices begin with the pain of childbirth and continue throughout the life of that child. They endure hardships and heartbreak, and give without expecting rewards or recognition. They are teachers, mentors, and defenders of their children. They reject the option made popular by those who disrespect the position of motherhood to abort their children, choosing instead to face the hard life of motherhood because of the immense love in their hearts.
In today’s world, due to taxation, the cost of living, and social pressures, many mothers also work full-time jobs even though, in their hearts, they would rather devote all their time to being with their children.
Of course, not all women who give birth rise to the level of being a “Good Mom”. Many factors contribute to some being very bad, such as mental illness, addiction, alcoholism, and their own childhood abuse, immaturity, selfishness, and others. Clearly, they should never have become mothers. But most Moms are like we just described.
NO GREATER LOVE
The greatest example of motherhood is Mary, the birth mother of Jesus, who, regardless of the public scrutiny of gossip and judgment, and by the power of her faith, chose to accept the assignment of being a virgin mother.
She was willing to accept the consequences of ridicule, shame, meanness, and rejection to obey God.
“GREATER LOVE THAN THIS HAS NO MAN THAN THIS, THAT HE LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS.“
(John 15:13)
Yes, Jesus was speaking of the love-driven sacrifice of His earthly suit for all of us. But mothers do lay down their lives for their children every day in ways others can not comprehend.
HERE FROM HOLY SPIRIT IS THE DEFINITION OF LOVE:
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.“
(1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
No mother is perfect, but this is the kind of love that most mothers have for their children. It is very selfless and endures forever.
I am thinking about my mother in Heaven, who took care of five children, and all the wonderful moms out there.
My wife, Teresa, and my daughter, Reasey, are two of the best. I am thinking about our partner, Mr. JL, whose mother is 101 years old and still loving, rocking the world, and teaching everybody about the love of Jesus, and many others.
TO THE CHILDREN
Try your best to return the love your mother has poured into you. Love them, respect them, and act as if today is the last day you will see them, because it could be, and when they are gone, you will always wish you had. Let go of any scorekeeping, bitterness, or unforgiveness you may have, and just love them. They did the best they could with what they had.
THANKS, LOVE, AND BLESSINGS TO ALL OF THE MOTHERS OF THE WORLD!
