Why is Christmas the center of the heaven-bound universe?
The importance, the significance, the relevance, the urgency of Christmas is so astounding that the totality of it is beyond the capacity of our finite minds to comprehend.
God Himself, in the flesh, came to earth to walk among His creation, experience humanity in every way, be tempted at all points as we are, but not sin, so that He could qualify as the only acceptable price for our eternal life with Him, because we are what He wants more than anything. We/You individually are His glorious inheritance!
(Ephesians 1:18)
Jesus’s Words:
Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, ‘This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.’
Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents (believes and believes in Jesus), than over ninety-nine righteous persons.
“Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who believes and believes in Me and is saved for all eternity.”
WE, JUST AS WE WERE IN ALL OF OUR SINS, WERE THE LOST SHEEP AND THE LOST DIME.
If there had been no Christmas, we would all be doomed to trying to find blessings, right standing with God, and salvation based on the impossible basis of our performance. Now, because of the blood of Jesus, our relationship with God is not about what we do, but about believing and accepting what He did.
WHY JESUS SAID THAT CHRISTMAS HAPPENED
“Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that WHOEVER believes may have eternal life in Him.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so WHOEVER believes and believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. WHOEVER believes and believes in Him is not judged or condemned, but whoever does not believe stands judged and condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”
(John 3:14)
“Jesus went to Nazareth, where He had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day He went into the synagogue, as was His custom. He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, He found the place where it is written:
‘The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because He has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor in spirit (those who are willing to listen and learn)
He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.’
And He rolled up the scroll and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He said to them; ‘Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing“.
(Luke 4:18-20)
WE WERE THE SPIRITUALLY BLIND PRISONERS OF OUR SINS.
Jesus said that He also came to bring abundant life to those who choose to believe and believe in Him.
(John 10:10)
Jesus said that He came to testify to and that He was the Truth. (John 18:37, John 14:6)
Christmas happened to heal us of all diseases, forgive us of all of our sins, past, present, and future, give us all things needed for life and godliness, give us the ability and power to do the same things that Jesus did and even greater than those, to give us dominion over every power of the evil one, to free the Jews from the ten commandments and the six hundred and three attached man-made ordinances, give us the power to speak things into and out of existence, so that His joy would be in us and that our joy would be complete, and overflowing, to give us His peace, and most importantly give us the indwelling Holy Spirit.
( Isaiah 53:4-5, Psalm 103:1-3 and 12, Matthew 8:18-17, 1Peter2:24, John 3:14-18, John 1:29, Hebrews 8:12, Hebrews 10:10-18, Revelation 1:5, 2Peter1:1-4,Luke 10:18, Mark 11:22-24, John 14:12-14, John 15:11, John 14:27,John 16:7:8)
AREN’T THOSE ENOUGH REASONS FOR US TO PERPETUALLY CELEBRATE, PRAISE, AND WORSHIP JESUS AND THANK GOD FOR CHRISTMAS?
THAT IS ALL FOLKS, END OF TEACHING
