JOHN AND MOSES

While I was tuned in to Holy Spirit, contemplating this week’s sermon, He planted this knowledge in my mind.

God revealed Himself to Moses in a very personal way in the form of a burning bush. Why a burning bush? My thought is that no human can withstand being in the glory, the power, and the presence of God, as proven by

What happened twice when Jesus appeared to John in His glorified state. On both occasions, John fell dead, and Jesus had to revive him.

So God delivered His marching orders to Moses and became His constant companion and guide. He told Moses His name. He told Moses that his name is I AM.

GOD REVEALED THE BEGINNING TO MOSES.

God taught Moses, in great detail, how life as we know it began. Moses interpreted God’s revelation to him in the best way he could, given the limited knowledge he had.

From the revelations and directions God gave Him, Moses wrote the first five books of the Old Testament, the Pentateuch or the Torah.

GOD THE FATHER, GOD HOLY SPIRIT, AND GOD JESUS, REVEALED THE BEGINNING AND THE END TO THE DISCIPLE JOHN.

The first Words that John wrote, under the direction of God in the person of Holy Spirit, were these:

“In the beginning was the Word! (Jesus)

And The Word was with God, and the Word was God!”

(Jesus and God the Father, the Great I Am, are the same!)

He was present originally with God!

ALL THINGS were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being!

In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of Men. And the Light was Life, and the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it!

There it was–the True Light coming into the world and thought the world the Genuine, Perfect, Steadfast, Light that illuminates every person. He came into the world, and though He made the world, the world did not recognize Him.

He came to that which belongs to Him, and they who were His own did not receive Him and did not welcome Him, and did not welcome Him,

But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe and believe in Him and His name.

Who owe their birth neither to blood nor to the will of the flesh nor to the will of man, but to God!

And the Word became flesh, a human being, and fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile among us, and we actually saw His glory, such glory as only the begotten Son receives from His Father, full of GRACE AND TRUTH.

For out of His abundance we HAVE (past, present tense meaning already)ALL (all who believe and believe in Jesus)RECEIVED, one Grace after another and Spiritual blessings upon Spiritual blessings and even favor upon favor and gift upon gift!

Sadly, we have errantly been taught to pray and ask God for things He has already given us. I can’t count the times I have been asked to pray for favor for someone.

HERE COME THE BOOM!

FOR WHILE THE LAW CAME THROUGH MOSES, GRACE

(God’s willingness, ability, and power, which has done for us, those things which we can not or will not do for ourselves, such as being saved.) AND TRUTH CAME THROUGH JESUS.”

There, folks, is the mystery of the ages that kings and wise men sought until it was fulfilled in Jesus. John laid out God’s plan, developed by Him in all three persons, at the moment that Adam and Eve disobeyed God and partook of the fruit of the knowledge of Good and evil, as explained by His anointed, appointed messenger, John the disciple.

Jesus brought John and Peter. And James to the Mount of Transfiguration (Mount Tabor or Mount Hermon) to witness a meeting between Himself, Moses, and Elijah.

God appeared as a bright cloud to proclaim Jesus and declare His pride and joy in Him. Jesus was transfigured into His glorified state. When the disciples saw Him in His glory and were in the presence of God, they all fell dead. Jesus had to revive them. In that moment, John saw Moses. The other man to whom God had revealed Himself.

(Matthew 17, Mark 9, Luke 9)

Strangely enough, the same thing happened as God in the person of Jesus met John on the Isle of Patmos, where he had been banished for teaching the “GOOD NEWS OF GREAT JOY WHICH SHALL BE TO ALL PEOPLE” In Ephesus!

When Jesus appeared to Moses to deliver to Him the revelation of the end times and a specific message to the seven churches in Turkey, Moses died again, and Jesus had to revive him.

The point of all of this is the length to which God went to make known His plan and His will for us. It is about how much our God loves us and wants us to know Him. It is all about how much God loves each of us just as we are.

It is a picture of irrefutable logic created by the Master of everything. Who among us could imagine a story as vivid and fantastic as the one you just read. What man could make such a seamless narrative that flows from age to age?

Meditate on the connection between Moses, the first person to whom God revealed Himself, and John the disciple, the last.

THAT IS IT, FOLKS, END OF TEACHING!
