“Christmastime is here, happiness and cheer, fun for all that children call, their favorite time of year.”
Jesus commanded us to have the hearts of Children, trusting, listening, watching, believing, imagining, visualizing, and loving the unseen God that created them. Let’s be childish!
One of my favorite declarations from Jesus is this one:
“I have told you these things, so that in Me you will have Perfect Peace. In this world, you will have trials, tribulations, and frustrations, but be of GOOD CHEER, because I have overcome the World!“
(John 16:33)
He also told us that He came so that His Joy and Gladness would be in Him, and that our Joy and Gladness would be complete and overflowing.
SO LET’S CELEBRATE AND LET OUR JOY LIGHTS SHINE!
We are so very blessed! Can you imagine a world without Christmas? All of it is about how much God loves us just the way we are, and that is enough to contemplate joyfully for all of eternity.
We can choose to separate the earthly, flesh-directed, tyranny of the urgent long enough to soak in that Love.
It seems that every year becomes noisier and busier, rather than quieter and more peaceful.
Visualize the circumstances of Jesus’ birth. A teenage girl gave birth to a baby boy in a quiet back room of a home in the little sleepy sheepy town called Bethlehem.
Then an army of Angels and other heavenly beings joined God’s personal messenger, Gabriel, to announce the birth to some lowly shepherds guarding their sheep at night.
They were praising God in the heavenly realm and on earth, and delivering on behalf of God the Father, the report of the greatest “Good News Of Great Joy Which Shall Be To All People” ever heard. They announced loudly God’s declaration: “Peace on Earth, Good Will to Men In Whom, He Is Well Pleased!”
The cacophony of the army of the heavenly host was, no doubt, very loud. The difference between their noise and the noise of other distractions is that it was God-ordained and about the pronouncement of His eternal Love for us!
So yes, let’s make a joyful noise unto the Lord. But let the noise be unto Him. Let’s dedicate all we are and have to an eternal commitment to give Him continual praise, laudation, and eulogy.
Let us give Him ourselves for Christmas, not in part but in whole. Let us give Him our hearts, minds, and time. Let us strive to live the life that He died to give us, beaming our Love back to Him and to all who enter our lives. Let us be a walking reflection of our receipt of His great and precious promises.
Now and forevermore, let us walk in and under the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit. Let those we lead see our Love, goodness, compassion, mercy, grace, forgiveness, kindness, generosity, peace, charity, joy, and hope.
Let us make our Christmas gift to the God who loves us so much that He died the worst death any human ever could or would to prove it, be to make our lives a reflection of His eternal, unqualified, incomprehensible, unconditional Love. Let’s choose to believe every Word that He guaranteed with His blood and make them the purpose and direction of our lives.
