It did it again! The Earth orbited the sun! It took three hundred sixty-five solar days, five hours, forty-eight minutes, and forty-five seconds, just as it has for billions of years. This event has occurred ever since God spoke the Earth into existence.
Contrary to Jesus’s instruction to take no thought for tomorrow, modern man has chosen to make a huge deal out of this perpetual event.
THE REALITY OF GOD’S TIME
As explained to us by King Solomon, the God-created wisest man who ever lived:
“That which is now (this present moment), has already been; (the present is the past), and that which is to be
(the future) has already been; (the future is the past), and God seeks that which has passed.
(Ecclesiastes 3:15)
MEANING: There is no such thing in God’s world as time. “God’s Time” is this present moment! That is His address.
That is why Jesus instructed us to take no thought for tomorrow. Time is a theoretical invention of men. Even Einstein’s theory of relativity is an assumption based on the preposition that a second is a second. God is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, and the now.
“New Year’s” has attained such status as to portend the immediate end of the celebration of the greatest event that has ever happened or will ever happen: Christmas. The “You Musters” have issued a command that we end our Christmas celebration in honor of this perennial happening.
In compliance with this demand, even most “believers” have yanked down their decorations and packed them up. They have chosen to “move on” from Christmas.
Very silly, but so be it. Now what.
The tradition of man is to set a goal or goals to begin Earth’s new rotation. These are called resolutions. No matter how well-intended, they are usually frivolous and rarely achieved.
If we accept this assignment, why not make them in compliance with the commands of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords? Instead of resolving to perform a set of annual resolutions, we committed to live in this second.
What if each of us made a serious commitment to keep the last command to us from Jesus, our “New Second Resolution”?
“Go you therefore into all nations, immersing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you,” and listen, I am with you now and all the days, and to the close and consummation of the age. So be it!”
(Jesus, Matthew 28:19-20)
How wonderful it would be if each of us made this our stalwart resolution for this “New Second?” How blessed would it be if we committed to sharing the unconditional, infinite, incomprehensible love of Jesus at every opportunity?
Wouldn’t it be splendid if we went about teaching the Truths of Jesus whenever possible? What if every day before we started our earthly doings, we first asked God to give us the opportunity this day to teach someone who needs the “Good News of Great Joy Which Shall Be To All People” about the King of Kings and Lord of Lords
and His unending love for them, just the way they are?
Those of you who follow us know the Great And Precious Promises of Jesus and His instructions or commands to us such as: “Love each other as I have loved you, Believe and Believe in the One Whom He Has Sent, Do to others as you would have them do to you, give and it shall be given to you pressed down shaken together overflowing in your finances, take no thought for tomorrow, seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and you will receive all the things you fret about, freely you have received freely give, blessed are the merciful, those who mourn, the selfless, the peacemakers, you when you are persecuted because of me, acknowledge Me in front of men and I will acknowledge you before My Father in Heaven, For Whoever believes and believes in me, there is now no judgment or condemnation,“
THESE ARE BUT A FEW of the teachings and instructions of Jesus that we can bless our fellow men with. What if every morning we began our day by asking the Holy Spirit to order our footsteps and guide us into all truth, showing us the things to come and reminding us of the teachings of our King?
THAT IS IT, FOLKS! END OF TEACHING! HAPPY NEW SECOND!
