MY TALKS WITH GOD
The more I listen to God, the more I listen to God. The more I listen to God, the more I hear Him and recognize His voice; the more I listen to God, the better I feel, and the deeper I fall in love with Him. We talk all day, every day. I listen to Him, and He listens to Me. My talks with God bring me a peace that can not be explained.
The cares of this world, the continual noise and urgency, and distractions of modern communications, like television, entertainment, sports, the internet, social media, and work, interrupt our time together. However, our meetings have become so precious that I fight to make time for them. They have become my greatest joy.
Not long ago, I was told that telling others about speaking to God makes me sound insane. Not to Him.
“The watchman(Holy Spirit) opens the door for this man (Jesus), and the sheep (us) listen to His voice and pay attention to it, and He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out”. (beside still waters and into green pastures, Psalm 23)
When He has brought His own sheep outside, He walks on before them, and the sheep follow Him because they know His voice.”
(John 10:3-4)
Scripture has repeatedly taught us that God hears our voices!
“For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous (those who believe and believe in Jesus), and His ears are attentive to their prayer.”
(1 Peter 3:12)
“And it shall be that before they call, I will answer, and while they are speaking, I will hear.”
(Isaiah 65:24)
More scriptures about God hearing us:
(Psalm 145:18-19, Proverbs 15:29, Psalm 34:17, John 9:31)
In a recent conversation with God, I asked Him to teach me something. He began by bringing certain scriptures to mind and then explained their meaning in context.
This one is awesome.
“THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE GOD”
“Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God. The Lord is the one and only God! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, strength, and entire being.”
(Deuteronomy 4:6)
“In the beginning, before all time, was the Word (Jesus)
and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.”
(John 1:1)
“And the Word became flesh and lived among us!”
(John 1:14)
Put all of that together. Jesus is God. Jesus is the Word. God is the Word. God became a human and walked on the earth for thirty-three years to teach us how to open the door of our hearts to Him so that He could live with and in us foreverr.
“If you had known Me, you would also have known My Father. From now on, you know Him and have seen Him!
Phillip told him, Lord, show us the Father, then we shall believe. Jesus replied, Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not know Me yet, Phillip?
ANYONE WHO HAS SEEN ME HAS SEEN THE FATHER!”
(John 14:7-9)
God the Father, God Jesus, God Holy Spirit are the same!
They are the One True God. There is no other God! They are far above all other gods!
If we believe in and believe Jesus, God the Father, God Jesus, and God Holy Spirit move into our hearts and souls and live within us.
God, in the person of Jesus, made this declaration:
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My Word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.”
(John 14:23)
Let that soak into your being.
GOD THE FATHER LIVES INSIDE OF US!
A message from Isaiah the Prophet who lived four hundred years before Jesus: “Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Pay Attention, the young woman who is unmarried and a virgin shall conceive and bear a Son and shall call His Name Immanuel, which means, God with us.” (Isaiah 7:14)
“It was God personally present in Jesus, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against men their trespasses but canceling them, and committing to us the message of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:19)
We don’t have to go to heaven as we perceive it to be with God. He is inside of us. He is in all of our trillions of cells and subcells. He is with us. And He promised that He would NEVER LEAVE US!
“And pay attention, I am with you all the days to the very end of the age! Amen!”
(Matthew 28:20)
“Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them. The Lord your God goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you.
(Deuteronomy 31:6)
At this point, God told me to meditate on Who He Is and What He has done. That would include creating and maintaining everything that is.
Jesus is the same God who led His people from the famine in Israel to the land of Goshen, a land of green pastures and still waters overflowing with abundance.
Jesus is the same God who parted the Red Sea and led His people from the bondage of slavery in Egypt to a land flowing with milk and honey, regardless of their behavior and constant rejection of Him.
Jesus is the same God who parted the Red Sea!
This is what the astonished and overwhelmed Moses said to God after it happened.
“The enemy said, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; My desire shall be satisfied against them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall dispossess them and drive them out.’
You blew with Your wind; the sea covered them;
Clad in armor, they sank like lead in the mighty waters.
“Who is like You among the gods, O Lord?
Who is like You, majestic in holiness,
Awesome in splendor, working wonders?
“You stretched out Your right hand,
The sea swallowed them.
“You in Your lovingkindness and goodness have led the people whom You have redeemed;
In Your strength, You have guided them with care to Your holy habitation.”
(Exodus 15:9-14)
Jesus is the same God who led His people in the desert for forty years and lived among them; though they had rejected Him, He stayed with them as a cloud by day and a fire by night and fed more than two million Israelites every day.
Jesus is the same God Who delivered Daniel from the Lion’s den. (Daniel 620:22)
Jesus is the same God Who caused five barren women in the Old Testament to conceive: Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel, Hannah, and Samsons Mother.
(Genesis 21:1-2, Genesis 25:11, Genesis 30:1-24, 1Samuel1:19-20, Judges 13:2-3)
God lives inside those who believe and believe in Jesus, in all His glory, majesty, and power. God is not sick. God is not poor financially. God is full of love, grace, forgiveness, power, abundance, mercy, hope, joy, gladness, peace, healing, comfort, and victory. All of God and His attributes and all that is His are inside of each of us, and all we need to do to receive them and Him is to believe!
“Then they said to Him, What are we to do, that we may habitually be working the works of God? What are we to do to carry out what God requires?
Jesus replied This is the work that God asks of you; that you believe in the One Whom He has sent!”
(John 6:28-29)
God the Father, God Jesus, and God Holy Spirit, all in one and one in all, have pitched their tent in those of us who believe and believe in Jesus. What is it that we then lack? What or whom should we fear? What is impossible for those of us who believe?
The Lord our God is with us. The One and Only God lives in us! Who can be against us?
The evil one and our flesh frequently lead us astray and away from God. God waits patiently for our return and rejoices when we do. We all have things we want. God wants us. We are His glorious inheritance. He craves our attention and presence with Him. We don’t have to go far to be with Him. He lives within our hearts.
