As recently as 100 years ago, people knew nothing of the unseen world around them. The discoveries and inventions of the last century have been phenomenal. The sum of our knowledge about the unseen has multiplied astonishingly.
As a child in the fifties, I remember visiting my great Grandfather who lived in the country just a couple of miles west of downtown Madison Georgia. Granddaddy had electricity because of the Rural Electrification Act of 1936. This was an act sponsored by President Franklin Roosevelt, which called for the availability of electricity to farms and rural homes.
I remember when my grandmother got her electric oven. Prior to that, I remember her cooking on a wood-burning stove. Today, we take electricity and modern appliances for granted and never even think about them.
America could not function today without computers, which evolved in the 50’s and 60’s from WWII era technology. We certainly could not function without electricity.
Even though electricity has always existed, man did not know how to harness and use it until recently.
We could not function without Airplanes. Most of the “high-tech” advancements in medicine have been made because of developments from the aero-space inventions that came from our determination to beat the Russians to the moon. All of these technologies advanced because of the recent understanding of gravity and how to overcome it. Gravity has always existed.
The discovery of the atom has led to great promise and great fear and destruction. Atomic science advanced to the point of functionality during WWII. Now atomic and nuclear medicine is essential to our wellbeing. Atoms and Molecules have always existed. Yet our knowledge of them and how to harness their secrets, is current.
As brilliant and all knowing as we consider ourselves to be, our followers will find us astonishingly ignorant of the world around us. Our knowledge of physical science is in its infancy. Only now are scientists discovering the reality of the infinite nature of the unseen.
Einstein spent his lifetime trying to understand the common thread of all things. The sum of his work is the discovery that energy equals mass times the speed of light squared. (E=Mc2). Yet at best, this man considered to be the brilliant father of modern science; only scratched the surface. He failed to discover what energy actually is. He could describe it’s properties, but he did not understand what the source of energy is.
Today Quantum Physicists are still working diligently to determine what the common thread of all existence is. They use electron microscopes and powerful telescopes and computer guided precision mathematics to guide them in their work.
Yet, all the while, the answers are clearly revealed in the Bible. No, Science and the Word of God, do not disagree and never will. All things seen and unseen were created by and are held together by the Word of God. Jesus is the Word of God. Jesus holds all things together by the Word of His power. The word of God is the answer to all Scientific question.
Suppose you were conversing with a friend or acquaintance and they declared to you their belief in electricity, gravity, atoms and molecules. To me, it is just as astonishing when a person accepts Jesus, as when they accept electricity. It is even more astonishing when they reject Him or His teachings. It is still more astonishing when they only accept part of His teachings. Clearly, Jesus was God come to this earth to teach us all things.
LIGHT …. Electromagnetic Radiation….ENERGY RADIATED IN THE FORM OF WAVES OR PARTICLES!
Consider the following scriptures that were written under the inspiration of God by scribes who could not possibly have understood their meanings, thousands of years ago:
“IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, AND THE WORD WAS GOD! THE SAME WAS IN THE BEGINNING WITH GOD! ALL THINGS WERE MADE BY HIM; AND WITHOUT HIM WAS NOT ANYTHING MADE THAT WAS MADE. IN HIM WAS LIFE; AND THE LIFE WAS…….THE LIGHT….OF MEN. AND….THE LIGHT…..SHINED IN DARKNESS; AND THE DARKNESS COMPREHENDED IT NOT!”
“There was a man sent from God, whose name was John (John the Baptist, not John the disciple the Holy Spirit inspired writer of this Gospel). The same was not that LIGHT…, but was sent to bear witness of that …LIGHT…, That was the true…LIGHT… (energy source) which Lights (energizes/makes alive) every human that comes into the world.”
(John 1:1-10)
Jesus is the Word of God made flesh. The Word of God is the energy source that produces life in all living things.
“In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth!”
(Genesis 1:1)
HOW DID GOD CREATE ALL THINGS? BY SPEAKING THEM (UTTERING HIS WORD) INTO EXISTANCE. HE SPOKE LIFE (LIGHT/ENERGY/JESUS/THE WORD OF GOD) INTO THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus is the energy source that created and maintained and maintains the existance of all things. Think on these scritpures.
“You do err, not knowing the scriptures nor THE POWER OF GOD.”
(Matthew 22:29)
“All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”
(Matthew 28:18)
“Wherefore, I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation and knowledge of him; the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.”
“And what is the exceeding greatness of HIS POWER, (Energy), Which He wrought in Jesus, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places…..
“FAR ABOVE ALL PRINCIPALITY AND POWER, AND MIGHT, AND DOMINION AND EVERY NAME THAT IS NAMED, NOT ONLY IN THIS WORLD, BUT IN THAT WHICH IS TO COME. AND HATH PUT……………..ALL THINGS……………..UNDER HIS FEET.”
(Ephesians 1:16-23)
“Who (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the first born of every creature: FOR BY HIM WERE ALL THINGS CREATED, THAT ARE IN HEAVEN AND THAT ARE IN EARTH………………………..VISIBLE…………..AND INVISIBLE…….., WHETHER THEY BE THRONES OR DOMINIONS, OR PRINCIPALITIES OR POWERS:…………………..ALL THINGS…………..WERE CREATED BY HIM AND FOR HIM…..AND HE IS BEFORE ALL THINGS………….AND BY HIM…..ALL…THINGS…CONSIST!”
(Colossians-1:16&17)
Think on what you just read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jesus created and maintains all things seen and unseen (atoms, molecules, sub-atomic, cellular, unknown or seen stars and universes or matter.) He is the substance that is common to everything that is or ever will be. Jesus is also the creator of all unseen and unkown heavenly matter and matters.
Ask yourself what Paul; a man who lived 2000 years ago and wrote these words under the influence of the Holy Spirit, could possibly have known about the unseen.
“God who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom he hath appointed heir of ALL THINGS, by whom also He made the …WORLDS…; Who being the express image of His person, and UPHOLDING ALL THINGS BY THE WORD OF HIS POWER, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty On High!”
(Hebrews 1:1-3)
Ask yourself how Paul could have known anything about …”WORLDS”…. The peoples of Columbus’ world 1500 years into the future from Paul believed that the “world” was square, and that if you sailed a boat beyond the horizon, it would fall off of the edge of the “world”.
Jesus is not a fairy tale. He is not a neat story. Jesus is the Word of God. Jesus and the Word of God are the catalyst that create and maintain all things. It is a good thing when people accept their salvation and reconciliation by making a decision to pronounce Him Lord. It is a glorious event when a person makes a decision to believe in their heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and they confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord. By this act are they saved. By this act they inherit the great and precious promises of God.
However, to use the ENERGY that Jesus is. To plug in to the POWER of God, we must make His Word the Energy source of our lives. We must Learn, Believe and use the gospel of Jesus. We must also make a decision to believe that Jesus guaranteed the truth of each of His Words, with His blood. We must believe beyond the shadow of a doubt that ALL OF HIS WORDS ARE TRUTH, AND USE THEM.
If you believe in electricity and do not plug into it, you will not be able to use it.
“Verily, verily I say unto you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, (make My Word the energy source of your lives by believing and speaking them) and drink His Blood, ( Make a decision to believe beyond the shadow of a doubt that His Words are guaranteed by His sacrificial Blood) you have no life (Light….Energy…Power) in you!”
“It is the Spirit that quickeneth ( makes alive ) the flesh ( our human flesh/behavior ) profiteth nothing! the Words that I speak to you, they are Spirit, and they are Life, But there are those among you who do not believe.
(John6: 53&54-63&64)
Are you plugged into the ultimate power? A power greater than electricity? Are you sure? Do you believe the Words of Jesus? Do you speak them? Here are a few to consider:
“Ask, and it SHALL be given you: seek and you SHALL find; Knock and it shall be opened to you. For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son asks bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish will he give him a serpent? If you then being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things, to those who ask?”
(Matthew 7:7-11)
“Verily, I say to you, Whatsoever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever, you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again, I say to you, That if tow of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
(Matthew 18:18-20)
“Have faith in God, For verily I say to you, That whosoever shall say to this mountain, Be thou removed and cast into the sea; and does not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he says. Therefore I say to you , What things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.”

“He that believes on me, believes not on me, but on Him that sent me. And he that see me, sees Him that sent me.”

“Verily, verily, I say to you, he that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater than these shall he do, because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

“I beheld satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means harm you.” (It is important that the reader understand in this scripture that when Jesus refers to serpents and scorpions He is referring to all of the powers of Satan.)

“Until now, you have nothing in My name: ask that you may receive that your joy may be full.”

“If you live in Me, and my Words live in you, you shall ask what you wish, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit, so shall you be my disciples.”

I urge you to plug into the power of God, The Words of Jesus. Accepting the fact that electricity exists and using it are two different things. Accepting the fact that gravity exists and designing a space shuttle are also different. We can lead powerful and blessed lives by making a decision to learn, believe the Word of God. Jesus died to guarantee us the power to become the sons and daughters of God. But He can not make us use that power.
