I recently attended a Bible Study group where a man was solidly under the influence of the evil one. Whenever one of Jesus’ great and precious promises was read, his response was “That Is Just Your Interpretation.” He was vehemently opposed to the Word. The man was literally repeating the evil one’s favorite false cliche’s and his dogma. I have heard them many times in thirty years of ministry.
The poor fellow stated that he could only bring himself to believe that Jesus saved his soul and that he accepts that salvation. He is going to heaven.Though sadly, he is missing all the many blessings that our King has freely bestowed on us in this life. Our friend is miserable to his core.
I have learned through many years of trying that it is impossible to make a miserable person happy unless you make them miserable. They are never happy unless they are miserable. They are miserable because they like the feeling of misery, and as the old cliche goes: “Misery loves company!” So, miserable people are at their happiest when they are miserable themselves while at the same time bringing their misery upon others.
Trust Father God, God the Holy Spirit and God Jesus on this fact: Our world view, how we feel, our attitude, how we treat others, what we project to others, is a decision that we make, just as belief, joyful celebration, strength and courage are. Jesus has given us all things pre-requisite to life, Godliness, and, happiness. The choice is up to us to receive His great and precious promises or reject them. He can not and will not make the choice for us.
So, why would a man with this outlook attend a Word driven Bible Study group? To be what he is very accomplished at, to be a “Nay Sayer.” He comes to cast doubt on the veracity of the Words of Jesus, and mock and belittle those who believe them. Why? Because he listens to the voice of the snake of old.
The others who attended the Word study left happy, content, filled, at peace with the world and themselves and, projecting the love of Jesus on others. They were having none of what the curmudgeon was selling.
The Holy Spirit teaches us through our God-appointed teacher Paul, in the 14th chapter of Romans that we are not to judge or by our words make these folks feel less than, because they are as saved as are we.
It is, however, such a shame to watch as they allow the evil one to poison their minds, their hearts and their bodies through resentment, bitterness, un-forgiveness, stress, fear, anxiety, worry, doubt, self-judgment, and sickness.
The obstinate man at the Bible Study was doing what satan constantly does, frequently from pulpits. He called the Word of God into question. The liar goes to church every day. Whenever you find yourself doubting the Word, you can be assured that the burnt-up cankerworm is swaying you.
The fallen burnt up ash heap has been trying to bring doubt and unbelief to God’s children from the very beginning and he has never stopped pulling this trick because it works so well for him.
“Now the serpent was more crafty (subtle, skilled in deceit) than any living creature of the field which the Lord God had made. And the serpent (satan) said to the woman, “Can it really be that God has said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?” (Genesis 3:1)
This was the moment when butt boil first used his favorite weapon. He questioned the truth of what God had told the woman, and she bought in.
God had warned Adam and Eve who had everything, what would happen if they ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Yet they were conned by the stench in God’s nostrils; they ate the fruit (not an apple) from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
For the first time, they saw evil, and they allowed it to enter into their hearts. From that day forward, man is born with a sin nature that he must fight every day and night of his earth life. That one lie ruined God’s plan for us. Man’s free will was first used to listen to the father of all lies.
Buying into the deceit of the enemy is easy. You just get in agreement with the devil, by questioning the truth of the Words of Jesus, including, and especially if they are direct quotations.
Read and memorize John 14:12-14. As you read the full scripture slowly and for comprehension, observe how quickly the evil one comes and tries to implant the “Surely He did not say.” thought in your mind. Here are a couple more. Check them out. See how fast doubt begins to overtake you: (John 15:7, Luke 6:28, John 10:10, Luke 6:38, 2Corinthians9:6-11, Mark 11:22-24, 2Peter1:1-4, Matthew 8:16-17, Isaiah 53:4, Hebrews 10:10, Hebrews 8:12, Psalm 103:3 and 12, Zephaniah 3:17, 1Peter2:24.)
I had lunch with a partner and dear friend today. We talked about how beautiful life would be if all of God’s children believed all of the blood-bought and guaranteed great and precious promises of Jesus. Earth would be a mini-heaven.
God called satan an unwanted growth. So, I call him butt-boil, I can’t imagine a more unwanted growth. Here are a few more of the names that our Father and King uses to refer to the stench in His nostrils.
The Father of all lies,(John8:44) a pile of ashes,(Ezekiel 28:18) the maggots which prey on the dead are spread out under you, and worms are your covering. You: are clothed with the slain who are pierced by the sword. (Isaiah14:11)
Accuser of the brothers (Rev 12:12:10)
Angel of the bottomless pit (Rev 9:11)
A heap of ashes(Ezekial 28:18)
Beast (Rev 14:9-10)
Canker Worm (Joel 2:25)
Deceiver (Rev 12:9
Enemy (Matthew 13:9)
Evil One (John:15)
FATHER OF ALL LIES (John8:44)
Fleeing serpent (Isaiah 27:1)
Fallen one (Isaiah 14:12)
King of Babylon (Isaiah 14:4)
King of Tyre (Ezekial 28:12)
Murderer (John 8:44, 10:10)
Ruler of the darkness (Ephesians 6:12)
Serpent of old (Rev 12:9)
Tempter (Matthew 4:12)
Thief (John 10:10)
These names are what Jesus calls the burnt up cankerworm. They reflect the lowly state in which the fleeing snake finds himself. He is absolutely powerless in our lives except to lie and get us to agree with him. Jesus destroyed the power of the evil one during the three days He spent in paradise before He rose from the dead.
NOTE this fantastic promise that Jesus bought for us with His blood:
“He said to them; I watched Satan fall from heaven like lightning. (nine times hotter than the sun. Jesus watched him get burnt to ashes on entry into earths atmosphere because it was Jesus who threw him) Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions,(whenever you read the Word serpent in the Word, it is referring to the stench and scorpions his angels, demons, servants, and minions). And the ability to exercise authority over all the power of the enemy and NOTHING WILL IN ANY WAY HARM YOU! Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.”
(Luke 10:18-20)
That is one of the essential teachings of our King. Jesus stated clearly that He gave us dominion and authority for us to stomp on the evil one and all of his minions and powers!!! Please never forget it!
Another damned lie from satan is that God tempts us. When you hear this non-sensical lie about our King and Father, reject it immediately.
I have heard a Ph.D. Pastor of one of the largest Baptist churches in the south repeatedly say these false words: “Sometimes God takes things from us to teach us a lesson.” The man holds a Doctorate from the great Dallas Theological Seminary Yet is utterly ignorant of the nature of Jesus.
My wife and I once attended the Wednesday night dinner at another two thousand member church. The guest speaker was a woman who said that God burnt her house down to teach her a lesson. There were at least three hundred people in attendance. The lady got a standing ovation.
You just read that God calls the evil one the “Father of all lies.” He also labeled him “The Tempter.” Please read and
memorize this truth:
“Let no one say when he is tempted, God is tempting (The Hebrew word tempted also means-tested) me, for God cannot be tempted (or tested)by evil, and He tempts (or tests) no one. (James 1:12)
God the Father, God Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit do not do evil or negative. All of their promises are yes and, “So be it!” There is one who comes to kill, steal, and destroy. It is not Jesus. It is the serpent of old.
Jesus teaching…
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance to the full, till it overflows.
(John 10:10)
Butt Boil is not smart. Who starts a rebellion against God? He is a master deceiver and liar and con man.
He destroys people by hiding the Truth of Jesus from them. God told the prophet Hosea that His people perish for lack of knowledge. He blamed the priests that should have known and taught His promises and covenants. The same thing is going on in much of the church today, especially among denominational churches.Though certainly not yours!
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge of My Word, where I reveal My will.” (Hosea 4:6)
Surely this does not occur in your church, but in many, the leaders are still obfuscating, denying, watering down, and refusing to teach the Great and Precious Promises of God Jesus.
Fight the chief liar! How? Read these instructions from Jesus in the person of the Holy Spirit as He gave them to Paul.
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of peace.
Lift over all the covering shield of saving faith upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked one.
And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God!”
(Ephesians 6:12-18)
Let’s examine all of our God-given weapons, which the Holy Spirit calls the “Full Armor of God.”
The Belt of Truth, Jesus is the Way and the Truth and the Life. Putting on the belt of truth is a choice that we can make to believe Jesus without a doubt.
The Breastplate of Righteousness is the righteousness (a state of being in right standing with God) that Jesus bought us with His blood. We need to accept the fact that we don’t do anything but believe in and believe Jesus to be in right standing with God.
(John 6:28-29)
The Sheild of faith is a choice that we make to live in this present moment joyfully celebrating the receipt of the blood-bought and guaranteed Great and Precious promises of Jesus without regard for what we see, touch, hear, smell, or taste.
The Sheild of Faith is a defensive weapon. It destroys any weapon that the evil one would throw at us.
Pay attention: The Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, is an offensive weapon that we use to cut the evil one to pieces. When you quote the Word to the evil one, he runs in terror. The requisite to wielding the Sword of the Spirit is that we know and believe the Word of God. If your Bible is covered with a layer of dust, you will not have them to chop the evil one up. Whenever Butt-Boil starts lying to me immediately remind him of his future directly from the Word. He shuts up fast.
A dear friend and Word Teacher who has joined Jesus, summarized the Gospel of Jesus with this simple phrase:
“Believe and Receive, Doubt, and do without!”
When you find yourself doubting the Word of Jesus, remember where your doubt originates and reject that
doubt with all that is within you.
Please share this teaching with your friends. How better could you bless them than with the pure Truth of Jesus?
