PRAISE, LAUDATION, AND EULOGY
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Jesus.”
(Ephesians 1:3)
“We give thanks and praise to You, O God, we give thanks,
For Your [wonderful works declare that Your] name is near;
People declare Your wonders.”
(Psalm 75:1)
“I will exalt You, my God, O King,
And [with gratitude and submissive wonder] I will bless Your name forever and ever.”
“Every day I will bless You and lovingly praise You;
Yes, [with awe-inspired reverence] I will praise Your name forever and ever.”
“Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised,
And His greatness is [so vast and profound as to be] unsearchable [incomprehensible to man].
One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty and remarkable acts.”
(Psalm 145)
“When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:
“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”
“I tell you,” He replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”
(Luke 19:35-40)
“Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul,
And all that is [deep] within me, bless His holy name.
Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul,
And do not forget any of His benefits;
Who forgives all your sins,
Who heals all your diseases;
Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you [lavishly] with lovingkindness and tender mercy and fills your life with good things.”
(Psalm 103:!)
The stench in God’s nostrils has no power but to lie. With his lies, he causes men to kill, steal, and destroy and calls the word of God into question. he did it with Adam and Eve when he convinced them to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. His famous sales pitch was: “surely He did not say.” The butt boil is still selling that same lie.
Today he distracts us by making us believe that what we see is more real than what we don’t see and polluting our minds with evil negative thoughts.
He causes us to see the problems and challenges in our lives as insurmountable mountains. The stench continually tempts us and refocuses our attention to what is wrong in our lives instead of what is right.
When we fall into this trap, we become so self-oriented and fearful that we forget about what Jesus did on the cross. That is the touchdown for the old ash heap.
When we choose to believe Jesus, we can’t help being filled with joy and happiness in every situation. Why? Because of all that He has done for us:
He loved us so much that He died the most gruesome and horrible death anyone ever will to ransom us from the wages of our sins and make us His own, forever.
(John 3:16)
He Forgave us once and for all of all our sins past, present, and future. In so doing made us holy, blameless and unreprovable in His sight.
(Hebrews 10:10-14, Colossians 1:22)
He chose to forget our sins and never again remember them.
(Hebrews 8:12)
He healed us all once and for all by dying of every disease known and unknown to man on the cross.
(Matthew: 8:17-18, Isaiah 53:4)
He gave us His power and promised that He would give us anything we ask.
(John14:12-14, John 15:7)
He gave us ALL things that are necessary for abundant life and Godliness, including His faith, which can not be added to, multiplied, grown, stretched or taken away.
(1Peter1:1-4, John 10:10)
He gave us the power to speak things into existence.
(Mark 11:22-24)
He gave us His peace.
(John 14:27)
He gave us dominion over the evil one and all of his powers and people.
(Luke 10:180
He overcame every problem we will ever face.
(John 16:33)
Why then would we not praise Him and give Him honor and glory and laudation and eulogy, constantly day and night?
We are to live by faith. Faith is living in this present moment, celebrating with joy and happiness the receipt of all of these great and precious promises regardless of what we see.
(Romans 1:17, Hebrews 11:1)
There are several ways that we can refocus our minds and hearts. One is to help another person or persons. Another is to write a list of things that you are grateful for, every day.
When you are down in the dumps, remember these things.
As for me, I will praise the Lord, day and night for the rest of my days, regardless of the circumstances in my life.
