COMMANDMENTS VS. GRACE PART II
This teaching proves to whom the ten commandments were given and why. It explains the specific time range that it was alive. It shows clearly that at no time was any Gentile/Non-Jew a part of the Commandments or the 603 attached man-made ordinances. It also explains why the Jews were placed under the Law.
The law came as a result of the sins of the Jews. The specific sins happened as the Children of Israel cursed God and threatened to kill His two “Favorites” Joshua and Caleb.
God performed 10 amazing miracles to free His children from the bondage unto slavery in Egypt. He caused them to leave Egypt with all the gold, silver and cattle in the land.Yet amazingly, the Jews cursed God 10 times saying things like: Why did you lead us into this desert to die of starvation, thirst, at the hands of the Canaanites, etc.
Caleb was one of the spies that Moses sent in to Canaan to spy on the Land. He is the greatest man of faith of that day. When 10 of the spy’s came back and declared that the land was uninhabitable and ruled by giants to whom the Jews appeared to be grasshoppers; Caleb gave an impassioned speech about how when God makes a promise He keeps it and that because God promised the Children of Israel the land, God would make it happen.
God called Joshua and Caleb His Favorites because they had “a different spirit”. When the Jews threatened to kill Joshua and Caleb and appoint a captain to lead them back to Egypt, God blew His cork! He threatened to kill “Every single one of those stiff necked Jews!”
That is the sin that Paul writes about when He led by the Holy Spirit writes that the Law came as a result of sin.

The ten commandments and the attached 603 man-made ordinances and rituals were given to the children
of Israel period, exclamation point. They do not apply to Jesus’ flock.
The commandments, however, are God’s survival plan.
In addition to giving those who had rejected Him the oppressive regulations as a teaching on what happens when God’s people reject Him and choose to rule themselves, God imposed the laws on the Hebrews to keep them from destroying themselves and with them, the lineage of Jesus.
So why are there ten commandment signs in front of
Churches? Why does Jesus’ flock fight so hard to overrule the new relationship that God created for all men for all time?
IGNORANCE AND TRADITION.
The truth is that Jesus’ flock has been deceived by their
“Leaders”, since the moment Jesus ascended to His throne where He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
It started with some of His hand-selected disciples and continues to this day. Though Jesus commanded them to go to all nations and teach the Gospel, they refused. Why? because Jesus’ commandment to them violated Hebrew tradition and ordinances which made contact with Gentiles a sin. They preferred obeying the man-made ordinances and rituals of men, to obeying the direct commands of Jesus.
THIS HAPPENS EVERYDAY!
When Paul traveled all over Turkey, known at that time as Asia minor, where the seven churches of the book of Revelations were, teaching the Jews in their synagogues and the Gentiles in their towns the true Gospel of Jesus, that Jesus fulfilled the law and now our new relationship is based on truth and grace and grace through faith; James, John, and Peter went behind Paul’s back telling the flock that they must obey Jewish tradition as well as believe in Jesus.
There are some, who read our teachings and proclaimthat we are going to hell for teaching people to break theten commandments.To be precise, we have NEVER taught anyone to break the commandments. As a matter of fact, every person who wants to live a Godly life must try their best to obey the commandments. Why? Because they clearly state what God considers good behavior.
We try our best to obey the commandments not out of fear of the consequences of not obeying them or out of necessity or compulsion but out of our passionate love for God and in gratitude to the one who loved us so much that He died for us while we were yet sinners.However, we are not accountable for keeping them in order to please God, be blessed by Him or to gain His favor. They are absolutely impossible to keep perfectly and God knows it.
Understand this clearly; the 603, man made ordinances put on the Jews by their leaders who claimed that God gave them, and the ten commandments that God did give them, have at no time ever, applied as Law to anyone except the children of Israel. A Gentile is any person who is not born a Jew.
“Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)— remember that at that time you were separate from Jesus, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.”
(Ephesians 2:11-12)
Could Paul and the Holy Spirit have made this more clear? When the Jews were placed under the impossible laws, Gentiles were not part of that or any other Jewish covenant with or promise of God.
How the Laws of Moses came to be:
“So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah. They said to him, “You are old, and your sons do not follow your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have.”But when they said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord. And the Lord told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you that they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their King.” (1Samuel 8:5)
“Like all the deeds which they have done since the day that I brought them up from Egypt even to this day—in that they have abandoned (rejected) Me and served other gods—so they are doing to you also. So now listen to their voice; only solemnly warn them and tell them the ways of the king who will reign over them.” (1Samuel 8:6)
“So Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king. He said, “These will be the ways of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and appoint them for himself to his chariots and among his horsemen and they will run before his chariots.”
“He will appoint them for himself to be commanders over thousands and over the fifties, and some to do his plowing and to reap his harvest and to make his implements of war and equipment for his chariots. He will take your daughters to be perfumers, cooks, and bakers. He will take the best of your fields, your vineyards, and your olive groves, and give them to his servants.”
“He will take a tenth of your grain, and your vineyards and give it to his officers and to his servants. He will take your male servants and your female servants and your best young men and your donkeys and use them for his work. He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves shall be his servants.”
“Then you will cry out on that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the Lord will not answer you on that day, because you have rejected Him as King.”
This is what happened. The Jews rejected God as their KING and demanded a king and laws instead.God gave them what they wanted. Kings and impossible to keep laws.
“Brothers and sisters, I speak in terms of human relations: even though a last will and testament is just a human covenant, yet when it has been signed and made legally binding, no one sets it aside or adds to it [modifying it in some way].”Now the promises [in the covenants] were decreed to Abraham and to his seed. God does not say, “And to seeds (descendants, heirs),” as if [referring] to many [persons], but as to one, “And to your Seed,” who is [none other than] Jesus.”
This is what I mean: the Law, which came into existence four hundred and thirty years later [after the covenant concerning the coming Messiah], does not and cannot invalidate the covenant previously established by God, so as to abolish the promise.”
“For if the inheritance [of what was promised] is based on [observing] the Law [as these false teachers claim], it is no longer based on a promise; however, God granted it to Abraham [as a gift] by virtue of His promise.”
“Why, then, the Law [what was its purpose]? It was added after the promise to Abraham, to reveal to people their guilt because of transgressions (Rejecting God as their King among many many others.), and the Law was ordained through angels and delivered to Israel by the hand of a mediator Moses, the mediator between God and Israel, to be in effect until the Seed (Jesus) would come to whom the promise had been made.”
“Now the mediator or go-between [in a transaction] is not [needed] for just one party; whereas God is only one [and was the only One giving the promise to Abraham, but the Law was a contract between two, God and Israel; its validity depended on both.”
“But the Scripture has imprisoned everyone in the entire world under sin, so that [the inheritance, the blessing of salvation] which was promised through faith in Jesus might be given to those who believe in Him and acknowledge Him as God’s precious Son.”
So the law had a specific time of endurance. “Until The Seed (Jesus) Came”. The moment Jesus expelled the last breath from His earth suit, the Law had been completely fulfilled.
At that very moment, every Jew was made free from the 603 ordinances and the ten commandments of Moses. The evidence was the destruction of the veil that separated men from God, in the temple.
“And Jesus cried out again with a loud [agonized] voice and gave up His spirit [voluntarily, sovereignly dismissing and releasing His spirit from His body in submission to His Father’s plan]. And [at once] the veil [of the Holy of Holies] of the temple was [a]torn in two from top to bottom; the earth shook, and the rocks split apart.”
(Matthew 27:51)
So Friends, Here is the take away:
God made the Jews free from the “Law of Sin and Death” at the moment Jesus died. All they need do to gain heaven is to believe on the one whom He has sent!
The Law has been completely fulfilled by Jesus and is therefore finished. It is good for nothing except guidance. No one can be blessed by obeying it or saved by obeying it or justified (found not guilty) or gain righteousness (right standing with God) by obeying it.
Watch for our teaching next Wednesday, which will explain the danger of placing oneself under the Law and how followers of the way were falsely taught that they must obey Hebrew rituals. We will also teach the DIRE WARNING FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT ABOUT REJECTING GRACE BY CHOOSING PERFORMANCE.
