Faith, Grace and Peace 2

“Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle (special messenger, personally chosen representative) of Jesus,

To those who HAVE  received and possess by God’s will a precious faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus :

Grace and Peace that special sense of spiritual well-being be to you in the true, intimate knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

For His divine power HAS bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and Godliness, through true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.

For by these He HAS bestowed on us His precious and magnificent promises [of inexpressible value], so that by them you may escape from the immoral freedom that is in the world because of disreputable desire, and become sharers of the divine nature.”

(2Peter1:1-4)

A LOT OF MEAT HERE!

Let’s break this teaching down.

This message is from Peter who declares himself to be a bond-servant and eyewitness to Jesus, and a Special Messenger sent from the Holy Spirit, with a Special Message. The message is written to all who believe Jesus and believe in Him; who have received through their belief in Him, The Faith of Jesus through His righteousness. Meaning we have Jesus’ faith as a free gift paid for by His righteousness, not ours.

“Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses.”

(Hebrews 11:1)

Simplified: Faith is living in this present moment, celebrating receiving the blood-bought promises of Jesus, regardless of what we see, touch, taste, smell, or feel.

Faith comes as a free gift. It can not be modified. It cannot be multiplied; It can not increase or decrease or expand or be strengthened or be added to, or be stretched or built. We may either accept and use the faith of Jesus or not. It is our free will choice.“Grace and Peace be to you.”

Grace is God’s willingness, ability, and power that has done for us those things that we can not or will not do for ourselves. Calling Grace unmerited favor or unearned merit is like calling a Lamborghini a cup holder.

Peace is a state of undisturbedness — a sense of ease and comfort without distractions.

Grace and Peace come through the knowledge of Jesus.

Pay strict attention to the word HAS. Meaning already has.

“For His divine power HAS bestowed (given) us ABSOLUTELY ALL THINGS, EVERYTHING, necessary for life and Godliness through the full and knowledge of Jesus.

Wrap: We have been given the faith of Jesus. We have also been given ALL THINGS that pertain to life and Godliness. The purpose of these gifts is that we can if we choose escape the sin that is in the world through lust.

Why would we crave or lust for anything when Jesus gave us everything just by believing Him!

“He who did not spare [even] His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?”(Romans 8:32)

Ask yourself how the knowledge of these facts affect your prayer life. Are you asking God for things that He has already given you, which is EVERYTHING?

Here are a few:

Receiving the undying eternal love of Jesus.

(John 3:16, Romans 5:8, 1John 4:19, John15:9-17

Receiving the Holy Spirit and being led by Him into all truth and having Him show us the things that are to come.

Receiving the infinite and unending, peace of Jesus.

(John16:33)

Being healed from every disease known and unknown to man once and for all on the cross. (Matthew 8:16-17 Isaiah 54:4, 1Peter2:24)

Being forgiven once and for all of all of our sins past present and future on the cross.

(Hebrews 10:10, Hebrews 9:26, Psalm 103:12, Zephaniah 3:17)

Being given the same power that Jesus had and even greater power. (John 14:12)

Being co-heirs with Jesus. (Romans 8:17)

Being recipients of abundance. (John10:10)

Being more powerful than the evil one and having dominion over him and all of his. (Luke 10:18)

Having the power to speak things into existence.

(Mark 11:22)

Being under the protection of God’s angels.

(Matthew 18:10, Matthew 6:23)

Think about this: Jesus died to pay the price with His blood to guarantee us everything you just read. How does that effect your prayer life?

May I suggest that instead of asking for what we already have been given, let’s change our way of praying to Thanking God for what we have been given?

Instead of feeling needy, let’s live in this present moment celebrating receipt of all of the great and precious blood-bought promises of Jesus, regardless of what we see.

I am beaming love to you all.
