Ignorance is Death!

Ignorance is not stupidity! Ignorance is a lack of knowledge.

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge of My Word, where I reveal My will.”

(Hosea 4:6)

Read my dear friend and fellow Word teacher, Ron Reeser’s favorite scripture:

Then He (Jesus) said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear. By your own standard of measurement [that is, to the extent that you study spiritual truth and apply godly wisdom] it will be measured to you, and you will be given even greater ability to receive and comprehend—and more knowledge will be given to you besides. For whoever has a teachable heart, to him more understanding will be given; and whoever does not have [a yearning for truth], even what he has will be taken away from him.”

(Mark 4:24-25)

Meaning: The more you research, study, meditate on, ingest, and live by the Words of Jesus, the more of Jesus you will receive, and the more of Jesus you receive, the more of Jesus you receive and the more of Jesus you receive, the more of His love you will receive, and the more  prosperous, happy, successful and joyful you will be.

Jesus instructed us to seek first and prize above all other things the righteousness of God and His Kingdom, which is His Word, which is Jesus, and all the things that we want and need, will be given to us:

“But first and most importantly seek (Hunger for, Cherish, Search for, Highly  above all other things) His kingdom and His righteousness (Jesus and His Words), and all these things will be given to you also.”

(Matthew 6:33)

If, however, you choose to live in ignorance of God’s Word, even what you have of Jesus and the knowledge of Jesus, you have will be lost and of no value to you.

In my town Atlanta, Georgia, our baseball team the Atlanta Braves are rolling towards a championship. By the end of the season, more than 3.5 million fans will have spent at least $100 to spend 4 hours at a baseball game. Easily half that number of fans will have spent at least three hours a day watching them on television, satellite, cable, or other means.

My alma mater, the University of Georgia, has a great coach and team. Our fans believe that this may be the year that they win the national championship.

At least 800,000 fans will have spent at least $150 to spend 5 hours at the Stadium watching them play. Millions more will spend four hours every Saturday watching them on Television or Radio or Internet.

The average person will spend six to eight hours every day on the internet, and/or watching television or listening to iPods or a few reading books. That does not include time spent on other forms of entertainment. For instance, the average movie lasts two hours. The content of most is meaningless dribble.

One of my favorite questions for “believers” is: Where does God place on your totem pole? Is he on the top, middle or bottom? I urge them to be entirely honest with themselves.

Where does God fall on your “to-do list”? Most honest “believers” will say, “near the bottom.”

If asked how much time “believers” are willing to spend with God, The Holy Spirit, and Jesus; The honest answer is very little.

That is why Pastors hear from people asking why this or that circumstance befell them. We are asked what one must do to get God on one’s side. We are asked why God heals some and not others. We are asked why God allows evil to happen. We are asked how one can obtain more faith, or to pray for favor, or to pray for healing, or to pray for finances, contracts, blessings, etc. The worst thing that we are asked to pray for, is forgiveness.

People spend so little time with Jesus that they are ignorant of the fact that He forgave us all of our sins: past, present, and future. Once, on the cross. It is a horrible insult to Jesus to ask Him for forgiveness. It means that the asker does not believe that Jesus’ suffering of the worst death ever was sufficient to forgive them.

(Hebrews 8:12, Hebrews 10:10, 1Peter 2:24, Psalm 103:3 and 12, Isaiah 53:5, Zephaniah 3:17)

People spend so little time studying His Word that they are ignorant of the fact that Jesus died on the cross of every disease known and unknown to man, thereby, healing us all of all sicknesses, diseases, maladies, infirmities, and calamities (accidents).

(Matthew 8:17-18, Isaiah 53:4, 1Peter2:24)

People spend so little time with Jesus that they do not know Him or His Words or His Character; so that they are reliant on others to explain to them what Jesus is all about; Which opens the door to all manner of false teaching.

What God told the prophet Hosea is so true. Most people are blown all over the place by every wind of false dogma, doctrine or circumstances because of their unwillingness to learn the teachings of God and Jesus, and even worse, to believe them.

I recently was asked to pray for a lady who was so ignorant of the Word, that she laid on the floor of her living room and in bed every day begging God to forgive her. She had never learned that God forgave us of all of our sins: past, present, and future on the cross so that she lived a  life of torment and anguish and depression. She was errantly taught and believed that it is necessary for us to pray for forgiveness. Sadly most “believers” are taught this heresy.

The average time it takes to read one of these messages is less than twenty minutes, and they are all scripture.

Very few do.

Why? They choose not to invest their time studying the Word. Love, peace, healing, power, courage, success, prosperity, joy, hope, happiness, wisdom, Grace and favor and the true nature of God and Jesus are in the Word, not in the world. Whatever you are searching for or want and how to get them are found in the Words of Jesus.

Jesus told us in advance what the primary weapons of the evil one and our own self destruction are: The deceitfulness of riches,

(God wants us to obtain wealth so that we can bless others. It is the idolization of richest that He speaks of.),The lust of other things, (anything that we crave more than the word of God.) The pride of life, (Investing more in this life than the one to come) The cares of this world. (Number one under that category is the fear of what others think of us).

These weapons that the evil one has forged against us are intended to keep us from learning the TRUTH.

There are those, however, who do study and meditate on these teachings and the Bible and understand the power that is in them. They are receiving Love, healing, power, all things necessary for life and Godliness, prosperity, joy, hope, happiness and peace, that those who do not bother to read them, do not even know exist.

Consider this  from the King of Kings and Lord of Lord’s:

“I LIKEN A MAN WHO HEARS AND DOES THESE

THINGS THAT I HAVE SAID TO A MAN WHO BUILDS

HIS  ON A ROCK, (solid foundation) TO A WISE MAN,  and the winds came, and the rain fell, and the floods and torrents came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house, yet it did not fall, because it had been founded on the Rock!”

(Matthew 7:24)

JESUS AND HIS WORDS ARE THE ROCK, THE FOUNDATION, UPON WHICH SUCCESSFUL LIVES ARE CONSTRUCTED!

How can one hear and do the things that Jesus said if they don’t read, study, learn and meditate on the?.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

(John 1:1)

“And the Word (Jesus) became flesh, and lived among us; and, we saw His glory, glory as belongs to the One and only begotten Son of the Father, the truly unique Son, the only One of His kind, who is full of grace (God’s willingness, ability, and power that has done for us those things which we can not or will not do for ourselves.) and truth” (absolutely free of deception).

(John 1:14)

JESUS IS HIS WORD!

And Jesus said to them, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood(unless you consume My Words and make them the source of your life and make a decision to believe that I guaranteed My Words with My Blood), you do not have life in yourselves.

The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life [that is, now possesses it], and I will raise him up [from the dead] on the last day.

For My flesh (MY WORD) is true [spiritual] food, and My blood is true [spiritual] drink.  He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I [in the same way remain] in him.

Just as the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, even so, the one who feeds on Me (Eats His Words) will also live because of Me.

My Words are the Bread which came down out of heaven. It is not like the manna that your fathers ate, and they[eventually] died; the one who eats this Bread believes in Me, accepts Me as Savior and will live forever.”

My Words are Spirit and Life. It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh conveys no benefit (our works are worthless). The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and (Eternal life with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.) Life.”

(John 6:53-63)

THE VALUE GOD PUTS ON OUR WORKS AS A WAY OF GETTING THINGS FROM HIM:

For we all have become like one who is [ceremonially] unclean [like a leper], And all our deeds of righteousness are like filthy rags; We all wither and decay like a leaf. And our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing], like the wind, takes us away carrying us far from God’s favor,

toward destruction.”

(Isaiah 64:6)

Use your imagination to figure out what filthy rags Isaiah wrote about.

For the Word of God is living and active and full of power! [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit , and both joints and marrow (All of the hundreds of trillions of cells not including the infinite number of sub-cells and DNA strips that we are made of), exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.

(Hebrews 4:12)

GOD SPEAKING ABOUT THE POWER OF HIS WORD:

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.”

For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

So are My ways higher than your ways

And My thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

Astonishingly, there are many people today who actually believe that their thoughts are higher than God’s thoughts and Words. They think that their finite human minds can teach them more accurately than the infinite Word of God. They really believe that they have a higher moral standing than God.

Universalists and “Liberal Christians” have created their own religion that insists that everybody goes to heaven. They created this ridiculous belief because they think that Jesus’ proclamation that no one can have eternal life unless they believe Him; is not “INCLUSIVE.”

Some want to change the Word of God to line up with their political, social, and philosophical thoughts. There are a large and growing number of fools who believe that science is superior to God and God’s Words. In fact, that is entirely impossible, because God created science. Without God, science is void.

“For as the rain and snow come down from heaven,

And do not return there without watering the earth,

Making it  and sprout,

And providing seed to the sower and Bread to the eater,

PAY STRICT ATTENTION TO THIS DECLARATION FROM GOD HIMSELF!

So will My Word be which goes out of My mouth;

It will not return to Me void (useless, without result),

Without accomplishing what I desire,

And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”

(Hebrews 55:8-11)

When anyone speaks the Word of God, it will accomplish the purpose for which it was sent, without fail. That is a fact. The only force in all infinity that can make God’s Word not come to fruition is the unbelief of the reader or hearer.

Consider this: How can one speak the Words of Jesus and the Holy Spirit and God the Father, if they don’t know what they are?

Try these Words on: “If you live in Me and My Words live in you, ask WHATEVER YOU WISH, and it shall be done for you.”

(John 15:7)

God honors His Word above His name. He can not change the Word that comes out of HIs mouth. He Looks over His Words to perform them every single mark and comma. God can not tell a lie. His blood guarantees His every single Word.

My eyes have seen so many “believers”: suffer needlessly, die unnecessarily, wallow in the mire of self pity, experience depression and fear, give up on themselves, live in poverty, become negative people, suffer all nature of illnesses, blame God for things that their flesh and listening to the lies of the evil one brought about, and be placed in a works-based relationship with God, all because of a lack of willingness to study and believe the promises of Jesus. It saddens my heart.

Because of unwillingness to learn the Gospel, many “believers” have been taught and have accepted non-Biblical and false paradigms like:

God is in control, God takes things from us to teach us lessons, The good Lord gives, and the good Lord takes away, God will not bless a sinner, We must repent and confess our sins and be baptized to gain salvation, God blesses those who bless themselves, sometimes it is in God’s will that people suffer and die (including innocent children), We must pray for everything, We can lose our salvation by our behavior, and countless other false doctrines.

There is an entire chapter about shooting these Holy Cows, in the book: “WHY JESUS AIN’T GONNA DO NOTHIN!” you can order it  right now by clicking this link:

Finally, one of Jesus’ most important teachings:

“IF YOU CONTINUE IN MY WORD (If you continue to read, study, meditate on, deposit deep within your heart My Word) you are indeed my disciples, and you will know the Truth (Jesus) and the Truth shall make you free.”

(John 8:31)

FREE FROM WHAT?

Anything that takes us captive. Like, works, the evil one and his lies, illness, death, our sins, powerlessness, fear, anxiety, stress, worry, sadness, lack and want, to name a few.

Before you complain, fret, worry, become anxious, doubt God, have a pity party, get sick, get sad, blame God, say that it is unprofitable to serve God, try making learning His Word your highest priority.

Here are a few foundational scriptures to begin with:

John 3:16-17, John 6:28-29, Ephesians 2:8-12, the entire book of Galatians,  Matthew 8:17-18, Isaiah 53:4-5 Romans chapter 4:24-5:4, Romans chapter 8:1 and the entire chapter, John 14:6-14, 2Peter1:1-4, 1Peter2:24,

I suggest that people begin in the first chapter of John and study Johns entire report, followed by Matthew, Luke, and Mark.
