How To Pray

HOW TO PRAY

Jesus taught the people of Israel how to pray using the “Lord’s Prayer” as an example. That prayer was for them

to use until He rose from the dead and freely gave us all of the things He taught them to pray for, when He died on the cross.

When Jesus died, He freely gave us ALL THINGS that pertain to life and godliness, including His faith.

The issue is not that we need faith. Instead, we need to choose to use the faith He freely gave us. How do we do that? By believing that we received His faith just as His Word says.

There is a difference between faith and believing. Faith is living in this present moment joyfully celebrating the receipt of the great and precious promises of Jesus, regardless of what our senses perceive. Faith is a gift.

Belief is a choice. Belief is believing. Belief is the most powerful force. It is the power that raised Jesus from the dead. Faith is a gift. Belief is a choice.

Remember when Jairus, the priest’s daughter, was dead? Jesus told Jairus that she would be healed if only he believed. (Mark 5:36)

Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle (special messenger, personally chosen representative) of Jesus

To those (we who believe and believe in Jesus) who have (past/present tense as in “already”) received and possess by God’s will a precious faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus: (our faith is a gift to us bought and paid for by the righteousness of Jesus and not something that we do)

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. For His divine power HAS bestowed on us absolutely everything necessary for a dynamic spiritual life and godliness, through a personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these, He has bestowed on us His precious and magnificent promises so that by them, you may escape from the immoral freedom in the world because of disreputable desire and become sharers of the divine nature.”

(2Peter1:1-4)

Meaning: God has already given us everything we want or need so that we do not need to sin to gain them.

Here are a few of those great and precious promises: Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth and show us the things that are to come, Eternal life with Him, Healing, His peace, His joy and gladness, His power, Forgiveness of all of our sins past, present, and future, the power to speak things in and out of existence, prosperity, the ability to gain wealth, dominion over the evil one and all of his powers and servants, and as Peter led of Holy Spirit observed, His faith and all things that pertain to life and godliness.

Here are some of the scriptures in which these promises are recorded : (John 15:13, John 3:16-18, Romans 10:9-10, Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:16-17, 1Peter2:24, Psalm 103:1-3 and 12, John 14:27, John 1:29, Hebrews 8:10-12, Hebrews 10;10-18, Zephaniah 3:17, Mark 11:22-24, John 10:10 and Luke 6:38, Luke 10:18, Mark 16:17-18)

How do we pray if Jesus gave us everything we will ever need? Exactly as He did.

Jesus was facing a huge disaster. He had fifteen thousand hungry people to feed. What did He do?

Did He pray and ask God for help? Did He try to figure it out? Did He develop a strategy for success? Did He remind God of how good He had been? Did He beg God for pity or mercy or favor or grace? NO!

HE GAVE THANKS!

“Jesus took the loaves, and when HE HAD GIVEN THANKS, He distributed to the disciples and the disciples to the reclining people; so also with the fish, as much as they wanted.”

(john 6:11)

JESUS GAVE THANKS!

And immediately, five thousand men, not including women and children, were fed all they wanted, and there were 12 baskets filled to the brim left over as a demonstration to the doubting disciples.

How do we receive the “Great and Precious Promises” of Jesus?

What is it that God asks of us? Here is Jesus’s answer:

This is the work that God requires of you, to believe and believe in the One Whom He Has Sent!”

(John 6:28)

GIVE THANKS AND BELIEVE

Just like Jesus did.

LIKE THIS

Thank you, Jesus, for dying to heal me. I receive that healing by the free gift of faith that you gave me.

How do I pray for Aunt Martha? Same way.

As the great theologian Ed Everett, says, “The problem with us believers is that we are always trying to break into a room that we are standing in the middle of.”

We have been taught to pray and ask God for things He already gave us instead of thanking and believing Him. Think about how this should change or enhance your prayer life.

Jesus wants you to know that He cherishes you (fill in your name) without regard for your behavior, so much that He suffered the worst death any human ever could to buy you for Himself so that you would live with Him forever.

I believe that we could change the direction of the behavior of the people of the world from evil to good by simply teaching them that fact. Do you? If you agree with me, please help us send this message to people here and worldwide.

Why Jesus Ain’t Gonna Do Nothin!”

The reason Jesus Ain’t Gonna Do Nothin, is because He already did everything. The book explains the program.
