Jesus never appointed Mary to be a deity. To the contrary, He barely recognized her as His mother. Check this out:
Someone said to Him, “Look! Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside asking to speak to You.” But Jesus replied to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” And stretching out His hand toward His disciples [and all His other followers], He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!
(Matthew 12:48)
So, neither do I. That said, I adore Mary. I don’t worship Mary. I adore her. Why? If Abraham is the father of faith, Mary is indeed the mother of faith!
That is why I love the Ava Mariah. I listen to it every year, over and over again. I want to be like Mary!!!!!
My two favorite people besides Jesus are, Caleb and Mary. Both stood in the face of dire consequences to proclaim the truth of the Word of God.
Consider this: Mary was a 15-16-year-old girl from a small town of sheep and Shepherds. She had never seen a movie or heard sound amplified. Mary had never seen a hologram. She had never seen an angel.
Read what Gabriel appeared like to Daniel:
“In those days I, Daniel, had been mourning for three entire weeks. I ate no tasty food, nor did any meat or wine enter my mouth; and I did not [a] anoint (refresh, groom) myself at all for the full three weeks.
On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was on the bank of the great river Hiddekel [which is the Tigris] I raised my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a ]certain man dressed in linen, whose loins were girded with a belt of pure gold of Uphaz.
His body also was like beryl [with a golden luster], his face had the appearance of lightning, his eyes were like flaming torches, his arms and his feet like the gleam of burnished bronze, and the sound of his words was like the noise of a multitude [of people or the roaring of the sea.
And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision [of this heavenly being], for the men who were with me did not see the vision; nevertheless, a great panic overwhelmed them, so they ran away to hide.
So I was left alone and saw this great vision; yet no strength was left in me, for my normal appearance turned to a deathly pale, and I grew weak and faint [with fright]. 9 Then I heard the sound of his words; and when I heard the sound of his words, I fell on my face in a deep sleep, with my face toward the ground.
Then behold, a hand touched me and set me unsteadily on my hands and knees. So he said to me, “O Daniel, you highly regarded and greatly beloved man, understand the words that I am about to say to you and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you.”
(Daniel 10:2-10)
Gabriel appeared to Zachariah and Mary. Their reactions were polar opposite. Zachariah as you will read in the next few teachings called Barbara Streisand on Gabriel and paid a heavy price. Mary believed Gabriel and became the birth Mother of God in the flesh.
Check this scene out!
In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”
Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”
“How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”
The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative in her old age has also conceived a son and this is now the sixth month with her who was called barren.
For with God, nothing is ever impossible and NO WORD from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment!!
“Then Mary said, pay attention, I am the handmaiden of the Lord; let it be according to what you have said. And the angel left her.”
(Luke 1:24-38)
NEVER FORGET THESE TWO STATEMENTS!!!!!!!
Make them a billboard in your head!
Mary…”I am the hand servant of the Lord! Let’s roll!!”
“Let it be done unto me according to what you have said!”
Pay attention to the words of the Holy Spirit spoken through Elizabeth, Mary’s Cousin. Guard them in your hearts. Never forget them!!!
“Blessed, happy, to be envied is she who believed for there shall be a fulfillment of those things that were promised to her.”
(Luke 1:45)
Connect the dots. Those who believe the promises of God are blessed, happy and to be envied; because those promises will be done for them because they believe.
