You Believe in Him? But Do You Believe Him?

By the very definition of the word, all Christians believe in Jesus. All Christians at least believe one of Jesus’ teachings:
(John 3:16) “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16, is the scripture that most Christians can quote verbatim. It is the fire insurance that we all rely on. It is the Jacks or better to open. We have to believe that scripture to avoid eternal damnation.

A few Christians even believe (John 14:6) they have heard that one at almost every Christian funeral they have ever attended: “I am the way, and the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father but by me.” Though some, have been deceived of late, and believe that there may be other ways to gain access to God. Yes, those of other faiths can get to heaven. All that they must do is to never sin, ever, in thought or in deed.

Some Christians have even heard and believe the following scripture: (John 14:7) “If you had known me, you should have known my Father also; from now on, you know Him and have seen Him”. (Meaning: Jesus and God are one in the same and always have been.)

Fewer still; but some, have heard, received and believe, (John 1: 1-4 and 1:14): “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things; were made by Him; and without Him (Jesus) was not anything made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. “And: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” Meaning: God and Jesus have been the same since the beginning, and the Word and Jesus are the same and always have been. And the Word/Jesus/God became flesh and walked on the earth as a man.

Here is a fundamental teaching from Jesus about believing, receiving and employing by speaking; His words:

“For everyone who comes to Me and listens to My words; and does them, I will show you what he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug and went down deep, and laid a foundation upon the rock: and when a flood arose, the torrent broke against the house and could not shake or move it, because it had been founded on a rock.”

“But he who merely hears and does not practice doing My words; is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation, against which the torrent burst, and immediately it collapsed and fell, and the breaking and ruin of that house was great.”
(Luke 6:47-49)

I minister to many people today who have had a torrent burst against their businesses, health, families, relationships and their minds. That is why today more than ever before it is critical to know, believe, trust and speak the uncompromised Words of Jesus over every area of our lives.

Have you ever been tempted to edit Jesus? Here is a simple expression that the evil one plants on our hearts, minds and lips: “Yes But”. In other words, “Yes Jesus said those Words, but what He actually meant is?..yadda, yadda, yadda.” We want to reply, no, to that question. But, the truth belies the thought.

Here is a simple test to learn whether one actually believes Jesus, and is willing to build one?s house on the rock of His sayings; by speaking them over one?s life. Does one choose to believe, the following:

“Verily, verily I say to you, he that believes on me, the works that I do, shall he do also; and greater than these shall he do; because I go to My Father. And, WHATSOEVER, you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you shall ask ANYTHING, in my name, I will do it.”
(John 14:12-14)

Please notice the lack of the words: “however” or “but”; or any other qualifier, in the above scripture, or in the following scriptures.

“Have faith in God. For truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the sea! And does not doubt at all in his heart, but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason, I am telling you, WHATEVER, you ask for in prayer, believe that it is granted to you, and you will get it.”
(Mark 11:22-24)

“I saw satan falling like a lightning bolt from heaven. Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions (demons and/ or evil spirits); and physical and mental strength and ability over all the power that the enemy possesses: and nothing shall in anywise harm you.”
(Luke 10:18&19)

“Again I tell you, if two or more of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together,) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask; it will come to pass and be done of them by My Father. For wherever two or three are gathered together as My followers in My name, there I am in the midst of them.”
(Matthew 18:19-20)

“If you live in Me and My Words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you wish and it shall be done for you.”
(John 15:7)

“Up to this time, you have asked nothing in my name: ask and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.”
(John 16:23)

“And these signs shall follow those who believe; in my name they shall cast out demons, they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents (overcome the power of the evil one) and if they shall drink any deadly thing (be attacked by evil spirits) it shall not harm them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and the sick shall recover.”
(Mark 16:17)

Jesus made the following promise of those who refuse to be embarrassed, ashamed or offended by His words: “And blessed (happy with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation. Apart from outward conditions, and to be envied) is he who takes no offense in Me and who is not hurt or resentful or annoyed or repelled or made to stumble [whatever may occur]”
(Luke 7:23)

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways, your ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts, than yours. For as the rain and snow come down from heaven and do not return there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes out of my mouth: It shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
(Isaiah 55:8-12)

I pray that especially in these days; that you will make a decision to choose to believe the Words of Jesus and build the houses in your life upon them. So, that when the winds and floods shall come against them; as they surely have, or will, they will recede and your house will remain, standing on the rock and prospering in it.
