Thank you Father, Thank you Jesus, Thank you Holy Spirit!!!!

A teaching from Paul, called of God to be our teacher:

“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise. Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore don’t be unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, where in is excess; but be filled with the Holy Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms (songs) and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always in all things to God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the respect of the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:15-21)

In 1622, Captain Miles Standish and the Plymouth Colony suffered a horrible late fall. The winter of 1623 was worse. Most of the Colony died due to the hard winter. Imagine living in Massachusetts without gas, oil or electricity.

That spring two Indians came in to the camp and showed the Colony how to plant crops and hunt and to live off of the land. In the fall of 1623, to celebrate the harvest and to give Thanks to God, Miles Standish proclaimed a three day feast of thanks.

At this time, Macy’s had not yet opened their store in New York City. Woody Wood Pecker and Snoopy had not yet been born. The Dallas Cowboys would not be playing the Detroit Lions for quite some time and even if they had, there would not have been a Plasma Set to watch the game on. So the idea of the day was not to get the kids absorbed in the parade while you drink it up in preparation of sucking down a turkey full of triptifan; and nodding through the most boring football game of the year, if you can get your dis-respectful children and relatives out of the good chair.

Abraham Lincoln declared a national day of thanks in the middle of the most horrific disaster that has ever happened to this country. We are appalled at the deaths in Iraq. 17,000 men died in 15 minutes in one battle of the civil war.

Most of our great grandparents grew up on farms. They depended on God for everything. I remember the prolific prayers of my great grandfather even to this day. He was truly grateful everyday for every peace of food on his table. Most of it came out of the ground around him.

What has happened to us in these days of immediate and total self gratification? We have locked God out of our schools and out of our work places and out of our homes.

A nation founded by and for God has now outlawed Him from public appearances of any kind. It is now a social and political faux pas to acknowledge God, much less Jesus Christ publicly. Yet, this nation was founded by Men and Women who came here to export the Gospel of Jesus to all nations.

Enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can we change? Can we take an hour of one day each year to Thank God for all of our many blessings. Can we do it without the aid of a preacher reading a sermon? Can we take time in our own personal way, to thank God for all of the things for which we ought be tearfully appreciative? Can we give Him thanks around a family gathering, sincerely and without embarrassment for our very salvation?

America is still the greatest and most prosperous nation on this planet. I believe this is largely due to the diligent prayer of our ancestors and the remnant of devoutly grateful Christians that still revere the name of Jesus.

One of the outreach projects of Throne of Grace is our prayer blanket program. We make and send prayer blankets upon request to people who are sick or in need of agreement in prayer. We pray for the recipients and tie knots in the blanket symbolizing our agreement with their prayer requests. Seeing each of these requests makes it easy for me to be grateful.

We have sent blankets to many people this year. One gentleman is a retired navy man fighting a severe attack of cancer. One gentleman is a United States Marine who visited our website, saw that we sent prayer blankets and asked us to make him one to take with him back to Iraq where he is now. One lady survived and is recovering from quadruple by-pass surgery.

We also minister at homeless shelters, hospitals and addiction centers. All it takes to become grateful is to spend sometime praying with a person who is truly grateful for the blanket that they have and the temporary reprieve that they have from the brutal nights on the streets.

We recently along with many other ministries, prayed and saw the miraculous healing of a child at Egelston hospital. If you need something to be grateful for, drop by Egelston and pray with a parent.

Here is a Thanksgiving prayer for you to build on:

“Lord God, I give you thanks for my eternal salvation. I thank you that you have proven your love for me, in that while I was yet a sinner, Jesus died for me. I thank you that all sin and come short of the glory of God, but that I have been justified freely by Your grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”

“Lord I am so deeply thankful to You, that You love the world so much that You gave Your only begotten Son that whosoever should believe in Him would never perish but shall have everlasting life.”

“Lord how can I ever thank your endless grace and mercy that because I have made a decision to believe in my heart that You raised Jesus from the dead, and have confessed with my mouth the Lord Jesus, I am now saved.”

“Lord I give you praise and glory that Jesus came that I would have life and have it more abundantly. Lord I thank you that there is now no more judgment or condemnation for those who are in Jesus. Thank you Lord that I am now more than a conqueror in every situation. I thank You, that I am a joint heir with Jesus. I thank You Lord that you have declared me to be holy, blameless and unreprovable in your sight. Thank you Father that through the everlasting new covenant of the blood of Jesus, I have been made free from the curse of the law.”

Oh Father, I can not comprehend it but you have loved me so much as to call me a blessed nation, a chosen generation and a peculiar people. You have adopted me as your child and blessed me always in all ways. Praise be to your holy Name.

Thank you Daddy God that you have:
Dealt to me THE measure of faith.

Blessed me in Heavenly places with all Spiritual blessings.
Given me ALL things that pertain to life and Godliness.
Spoken to me through Your Son.
Chosen me in Him (Jesus) before the foundation of the world.
Made me accepted (by you) in the beloved (Jesus).

“Oh my precious and dear Lord Jesus, I give praises to your name because:

Surely, (not maybe) He (You my Lord) has born my griefs (those things that grieve me, troubles, problems) and carried my sorrows( illness, disease, infirmities, insanities, anxiety’s and worries): Yet we did esteem Him (You my dear Lord Jesus) stricken, smitten of God and afflicted.

But He (You the Lamb of God) was wounded for my transgressions, bruised for my iniquities; the chastisement (punishment) necessary for my peace was upon Him (You the lion of Judah) and with your stripes, I have been healed, (reconciled)”

Every word of the above is a direct scripture quotation. I intentionally left out the references so that you might be inspired to find them for yourselves.

Here is a great way to complete this prayer. Get a legal pad and a pen and write down the things for which you are grateful to God, that are not part of the preceding items. You will be amazed what happens when you pick up a pen and begin.

The top of my list will include you. My family and I are truly grateful from the deepest part of our hearts to our partners. We thank God and our Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit for those of you who make our ministry possible through your generous offerings. We thank God for those of you who intercede for us in prayer. We thank God for bringing such wonderful and faithful people into our lives to join us on this mission from Him.

May you connect with God at the deepest level this thanksgiving, being anxious for nothing, but in all things through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving in your hearts letting your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God that passes all…

understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Jesus.

I’d like to thank the Holy Spirit for guiding my brother and I on the right path and for giving us the strength to expose the injustices we have had to endure with our employers. Thank you for being our ROCK and for supporting us right the wrong.
