In today’s world of computers, 400 cable channels, social media, and travel, we are bombarded with information. Some of the information we receive is positive. Most are negative. Teacher Ron Reeser states that eighty percent of our thoughts are negative. That was just confirmed to me by a Psychologist.
The largest part of those negative thoughts are direct
lies from the evil one. It is urgent that we disregard negative thinking and speaking.
Jesus taught us that from the overflow of good deposits in our hearts (positive, believing, encouraging, hopeful, Gospel fed good thoughts), our mouth speaks. Same for negative thoughts. (Luke 6:45)
Apply this cliche: “Garbage In Garbage Out.”
Speaking positive Jesus led thoughts is crucial to our mental, physical, and spiritual well being. Why? Because it is an eternal law created by God, that we will have what we say as long as we say it without doubt
(Mark 11:22-24)
What is in our hearts will come out of our mouths, and we will have what we say. The Bible is replete with warnings about the power and danger and damage caused by our tongues and words.
When we listen to the Holy Spirit and believe Jesus and reject fear, doubt, unbelief, worry, and anxiety, we receive the peace of Jesus which He left us and that peace that exceeds our ability to comprehend, will guard our hearts and minds in Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)
The thing that people want more than anything else is love. The only love that can satisfy our hearts comes from accepting, believing in, and believing Jesus.
The next thing that people want is peace. After peace comes: acceptance, recognition, and validation.
The Holy Spirit gave us the prescription that locks us into peace and joy beyond all understanding. Here it is as written by our God-appointed teacher Paul:
“For the rest, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence, and is honorable, seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on, and weigh, and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].”(Philippians 4:8)
The entire fourth chapter of Philippians is a roadmap to a life of love and joy beyond our ability to comprehend. If you have not yet, meditate on those words day and night until they replace the eighty percent negative thoughts.
Jesus gave us a command that, when obeyed, eliminates
fear, worry, and anxiety in a beautiful talk. If you don’t know Matthew 6:25-34, again, meditate on them day and night until you can recite them flawlessly and then say them all day. Here is Jesus’ recipe for Joy and Peace:
“Therefore I tell you, stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted) about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, as to what you will wear.
Is life not more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?
And who of you by worrying can add one hour to [the length of] his life? And why are you worried about clothes? See how the lilies and wildflowers of the field grow; they do not labor, nor do they spin. [wool to make clothing], yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory and splendor dressed like one of these.
But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive and green today and tomorrow is [cut and] thrown [as fuel] into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!
Therefore do not worry or be anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted), saying, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ For the [pagan] Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; [but do not worry,] for your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
But first and, most importantly, seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness (Jesus and His Word), and all these things will be given to you also.
So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
(Matthew 6:25-34)
The first command is: “DO NOT WORRY!”
The Second is to seek first Jesus and His Word.
It means that when you seek and accept Jesus,
You immediately receive “ALL THINGS THAT PERTAIN TO LIFE AND GODLINESS.” including the faith of Jesus.
(2Peter1:1) Having then received ALL THINGS, there is no need to worry.
The third and possibly most important is:
“TAKE NO THOUGHT FOR TOMORROW!”
Living in this present moment is the first
component of faith.
Jesus gave us His faith! To employ that faith, we choose to live in this present moment celebrating the receipt of the great and precious promises of Jesus regardless of what we see, touch, taste, feel, or smell.( 2Peter 1:1 Hebrews 11:1)
Our challenge is to live in this present moment fighting off the voice of the evil one and refusing to accept His words. How do we know the difference between the voices of the stench in God’s nostrils and the voice of Jesus in the person of the Holy Spirit?
Remember this!
God is positive!!! The evil one is negative!!! God does not do or allow anything negative. Why then you ask does evil or bad or illness exist. God chose to give humans free will. All good comes down from the Father of Light in whom there is no changing or turning. All of the thousands of promises of God are yes, and so be it.
All negative things are of the evil one mixed with our God-given free will. God gave us free-will because he wants us to love Him and obey Him, not grudgingly or out of necessity or force but out of the pure love of Him in our hearts.
(Genesis 1:26, Deuteronomy 30:15, Ezekeial 18, Jeremiah 4:14, John 10:10, John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10, 2Corinthians9:6 and many many more)
Learn and never forget how Jesus explained in very simple and easy to understand words, the rolls of God in all three persons an the evil one, in this world:
“There is one who comes only to KILL, STEAL, AND DESTROY. I have come that you might have LIFE AND HAVE IT IN ABUNDANCE OVERFLOWING.”
(Genesis1:26, Deuteronomy 30:15-19, Ezekiel 18, Jeremiah 4:14, John 1:10-12, John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10, 2 Corinthians 9:6-12)
Every word that proceeds from the mouth of God is 100%
truth because God can’t lie. Every word that proceeds from the evil one is 100% false because he can not tell the truth.
When you hear a voice in your mind belittling you, judging you, condemning you, making you feel less than or guilty, screaming that you are doomed and no good, etc. It is the voice of the evil one.
Whenever you hear a voice in your mind that questions the truth of God’s Word, it is the voice of the serpent of old.
Devil talk sounds like this: “I am a failure.” “Look at me; I am not attractive.” “I am not smart enough.” I am not worthy to walk beside or do business with hugely successful people. I am not good enough.” “I am not qualified enough to get that better job.” “I am worth what they pay me.” “I will never have enough money.” “I am broke, and I always will be.” “When my ship comes in, it will be full of unpaid bills.” “I will never get ahead.” “I am too afraid to speak to my boss and tell Him that I need a raise. If I do, he will fire me, and I will not have a job.” “If I get fired, I am not good enough to get a better job.” “There aren’t any higher paying jobs out there the I qualify for.” “My friends and I graduated from the same college with the same degrees, yet they have better jobs, houses, cars, more money, and everything than I do. I am a loser.” “I tried that before and I failed. I can’t do it now!” I messed everything up in the past, the future holds even greater failure.”
Have you ever heard these words in your mind and let them move rent-free into your heart? Have you then spoken them out loud without doubt?
People frequently blame God falsely for the calamities in their lives when, in fact, we bring these disasters on our selves by agreeing with lies from the devil and speaking them over our lives without a doubt. We are all living in our own self fulfilling prophecies.
When you hear a voice of love, of joy, of happiness of hope and peace and validation, affirmation and encouragement and prosperity and abundance, it is the voice of Jesus.
Jesus talk sounds like this:
“I cherish you, my dear child, with no thought for your sins. While you were in your deepest darkest sin, I died to pay for those sins. I removed the memory of your sins from My heart and mind. I believe in you. Nothing is impossible for you. You are beautiful to me. You are a huge success just because you choose to believe in me and believe me. I know the plans that I have for you, and they are good and not evil, so that your joy may be full. I will never leave you or forsake you. I came so that you would have life and have it in complete abundance overflowing to you. Yesterday is a canceled check. The future is not predicated on the past and it is not here. Live in the moment. You can accomplish anything one step at a time, one moment at a time. You can not fail unless you believe that you will. I will always stand beside you and give you the courage, strength, My faith, My mind, and My wisdom to accomplish your goals no matter how large they are. I am standing right beside you.
If the voice you hear does not agree with the “GOOD NEWS, WHICH SHALL BE OF GREAT JOY TO ALL PEOPLE,” It is the voice of the burnt up cankerworm. If the voice you hear denies the deity of Jesus or the Truth of the great and precious promises of Jesus, it is the voice of old scratch.
How can we clean up our negative minds and speech and learn to speak the Love, Peace, Health, Joy, Contentment, Courage, Strength, and prosperity of the Gospel of Jesus without doubt or unbelief and see them overtake our lives?
LEARN THE GOSPEL! CHOOSE TO BELIEVE IN AND BELIEVE JESUS. Let our words be the Words of God the Father, God Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit.
When I first began ministering, a very wise man that I respected told me these words: “You Can’t Give Away What You Do Not Have!” Those words set the course of my life of study of the Bible and the Words of Jesus. I wanted to have the Word to be able to share the knowledge of Jesus and His incomprehensible love with as many people as possible. So after more than 30 years of intense study of the Gospel, I still hunger for more ammunition and knowledge to bless others with.
Jesus taught us in what He called the most important of all of His teachings, this truth:
“Then He said to them, Pay attention to what you hear. By your own standard of measurement, that is, to the extent that you study spiritual truth and apply godly wisdom, it will be measured to you [and you will be given even greater ability to respond]—and more will be given to you besides.”
“For whoever has a teachable heart, to him, more knowledge and understanding will be given; and whoever does not have a teachable heart, even what he has will be taken away from him.”
(Mark 4:24-25)
Meaning that if the Word of God is the most important thing in your life, and you have a soft, pliable, teachable heart and you hunger and thirst after the Word, and you study with intention and dedication, you will understand and keep the Words you know, and they will not escape your memory. You will also be given understanding and memory of new scriptures that the Holy Spirit will reveal to you.
Contrastingly, those who could care less and are careless about the Word and Jesus will have whatever knowledge of Jesus, and His great and precious promises taken away from him by the evil one and his minions.
The more Word you know, the more positive thoughts you will speak, and the more blessings you will receive.
The more Word you know, the easier it becomes to reject thoughts and words that are not of God.
Here is a warning to us about being slothful in our thirst for His truth and righteousness:
“Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert, and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, be firm in using (the free gift of My faith)against his attack!”
The devil has no power except his lies, to destroy or devour anyone or anything. That is why we must fight hard to reject his lies. Listening to and believing the lies of the evil one leads only to doom and destruction.(1Peter5:8)
Studying, believing, speaking the Word of God brings the love that only God can give, peace, joy, happiness, contentment, abundance, eternal life, health, the same power that Jesus used to do all of His miracles, the power that raised Jesus from the dead, right standing with God and a state of justification (being found completely not guilty.) and son and daughtership with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
