The Power of Belief and Unbelief
“Yes, I believe Jesus but I am facing a financial tsunami!”
I hear these words in one form or another, spoken by honest followers of Jesus, regularly.
One person said to me, “Thank you for teaching me all of the promises of Jesus, but you do not understand. You don’t have to deal with the reality of my situation.”
“But Pastor Allen, you don’t get it!!” “I don’t know how I will
make payroll this week or ever get out from under my debt load!”
Here is one I have heard many times: “I lost my ass in a bad business deal and now I am doomed”, or words to that effect.
This is one that we all believe at one time or another and it is 180 degrees from the truth: “Nobody loves me! They just want what I can do for them or give them.” “God doesn’t love me because I am such a so and so.”
“I got a deadly diagnosis from the doctor! Would you perform my funeral?”
Often “believers” tell me that they are so upset by their
circumstances that they don’t sleep and frequently are
physically ill.
One lady told me that the stress and anxiety over her
situation was literally killing her!
Many “Believers” suffer horrid levels of fear and even depression over what they perceive their world to be, hopeless. Many “Believers” torture themselves with guilt
about their failures and the people they have “let down.”
Even though, the folk they believe they have let down have a King and His name is Jesus!
Sadly, many “believers” have been taught that the woes in
their lives were caused by their lack of faith, which is entirely impossible for those who have honestly made Jesus their King.
Why? Because when we became like minded believers we received the faith of Jesus. (2Peter 1-3)
What is then the cause of their woes? Most often it is unbelief and self full-filling prophecies.
Belief and unbelief are equal and opposite forces which determine the outcome of our lives. Allow me to demonstrate.
Mary believed the prophecy of Jesus delivered to her by the angel Gabriel. Thus, her cousin Elizabeth under the influence and direction of God in the person of the Holy Spirit spoke these words; “Blessed is she who believed for their shall be a fulfillment of the things that were promised to her by God.”
Are you being asked to believe anything more impossible?
When Gabriel had finished his explanation of how Mary would conceive our King, he also reported to her that her elderly and barren cousin was in the 6th month of her pregnancy. Then Gabriel spoke a message that should burn in the hearts of all “believers”.
“FOR WITH GOD NOTHING IS EVER IMPOSSIBLE AND NO WORD FROM GOD WILL BE WITHOUT POWER OR IMPOSSIBLE OF FULFILLMENT!” (Luke 1:37 Amplified)
When Mary responded to the unimaginable prophecy of Jesus, with “Let is be done unto me.” She immediately was
with child.
Ask yourself if you believe that any promise of God is impossible of fulfillment.
“Every good gift and every perfect (free, large) gift is from the Father of all pulsating illuminating energy in Whom there can be no variation or shadow cast by His turning (as in an eclipse).”
Ask yourself if you believe these promises from Jesus:
You have been given the power to do the works that He did and even greater things.
If you live in Jesus and His words live in you, ask what you wish and it shall be given to you.
Whatsoever things you ask in His name (using His authority) that will He do for you so the Father will be glorified in the Son. And anything you ask He will do.
Jesus healed all of us once and for all on the cross by dying of every disease known and unknown to man. So that now illness may only exist where there is unbelief.
Jesus has already given you all things that you will ever need or want.
Jesus has overcome every obstacle in our lives and commanded us to be of “Good Cheer”. Which is the natural reaction of those who actually do believe Him.
Jesus gave us the power to speak anything we want into existence as long as what we speak, we do not doubt in our hearts. Whether these things be good or bad we will have what we say.
Examples:
“I am doomed to failureI”
“I cannot fail regardless of what I see!”
“I am sick!”
“I do not believe in sickness. It is impossible for me to accept illness because my King destroyed illness and my immune system is stronger than Hercules.”
Jesus defeated the evil one for us; gave us dominion over the unwanted growth and his minions and promised that nothing shall in anyway harm us.
God loves and will not do without a prompt, quick to do it giver and He will cause all grace to abound unto you and multiply your seed sown. Give and it shall be given unto you with the same measure you use in your giving, pressed down shaken together and overflowing into your checking account, men will pour unto your finances,
If the answer is yes to my question you are walking around laughing and smiling and praising our King. You have NO stress. You have no worry. You have no fear. You are rejoicing in Jesus’ promises and victories. You have no sadness or depression only overwhelming joy that is plain for all to see.
You speak only positive statements. You in fact live in heaven on earth.
Jesus describes this state as “bearing much fruit”; meaning when you are in the state of Joy, people are naturally attracted to you. When they are attracted to you, they will be attracted to Him, because they will covet what you have.
Here are a few of the scriptures on which the promises listed in this teaching are based. Check them out if you have doubt:
(John 14:12-14, John 15:7, Luke 10:18, 2Corinthians9:6, Luke 6:38, Isaiah 53::4&5, 1Peter2:24, 2Peter1:1-4, Mark 11:22-24,Luke 1:37 James 1:17, John 3:16)
Some parting thoughts:
Jesus commanded us to live in this present moment. That is where He and His joy live.
Paul under the direction of God in the person of the Holy Spirit wrote of the importance of parting the flesh which counts for nothing and is not subject to the things of God, neither can it be. Here is a rule that those who are joy filled follow:
“Since we consider and do not look to the things which are seen but to the things that are not seen, for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are not visible are deathless, everlasting and of God.”
(2Corinthians4:18)
How we feel is a choice that we make, not God. He ain’t gonna do nothin! Our King already did everything that He can do, then declared, “IT IS FINISHED!!” Jesus signed the deal and guaranteed it with His blood on the cross.
I have a friend who is a Bible teacher, Loyd Skidmore; his mantra is “Believe and Receive or Doubt and Do Without!”
