THE LEAST OF THESE HIS CHILDREN
When Holy Spirit dictated this message, I wasn’t sure where He was going. When He finished, I got it. It’s very cool. It begins with a very important message from King Jesus.
“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, He will sit on His glorious throne. Before Him will be gathered all the nations, and He will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
(When Jesus spoke these Words, He had not yet finished His work. He ascended to the Father when He did and now sits on His glorious throne.)
And He will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
For I was hungry, and you gave me food; I was thirsty, and you gave me drink; I was a stranger, and you welcomed me; I was naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came to me.’
Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
(Matthew 25:31-40)
This scripture has more than one meaning. Of course, it means that we are to care for those less fortunate but Focus on what Jesus wants us to feed the hungry and satisfy the thirsty. Here are the clues that Jesus gave us:
“And He (Jesus) went without food for forty days and nights, and later He was hungry. And the evil one came and said to Him, If you are the Son of God, command these stones to be made into loaves of bread.”
But Jesus replied, it has been written, Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every Word that comes forth from the mouth of God.”
(Matthew 4:2-4)
Today’s world is filled with Spiritually malnourished folks, “believers,” and non-believers. The malnourished believers feed their minds with many things but not enough of Jesus’s Word. Ask yourself how much of His Words you deposit in yourself every day.
The malnourished non-believers, of which there are many more than there are believers, are perishing from a lack of knowledge.
(Hosea 4:6)
“And Jesus said to them, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, you cannot have any life in you unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood. He who feeds on my flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
“For My flesh is true and genuine food, and My blood is true and genuine drink. He who feeds on MY flesh and drinks My blood dwells continually in Me, and I in him.”
(John 6:53-55)
To eat the flesh of Jesus is to consume His Words; to drink His blood is to believe beyond doubt that He guaranteed every one of His Words with His blood.
Jesus asked Peter to demonstrate his love for Him by feeding His sheep, which means to teach them His Words. (John 21:17)
Immediately after Jesus sent Peter to feed His sheep, He gave us all the great commission.
“Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, All authority, rule, and power has been given to Me. Go then and make disciples of all nations, immersing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, AND PAY ATTENTION, I AM WITH YOU ALL THE DAYS TO THE VERY CLOSE OF THE AGE. AMEN!”
(Matthew 28:18-20)
So here is the deal: If you want to be the sheep that blesses Jesus by feeding Him, help send the Gospel to the world’s undernourished people.
Jesus loves you so much personally, without regard for your behavior, that He gave everything He had for you.
Just for you (fill in your name here), He came here and wore an earth suit for thirty-three years, forsaking His home in His glorious heaven to suffer the punishment that was necessary to purchase you for Himself.
Because of His sacrifice, you have forgiven your sins past, present, and future. You have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness. You have been healed; You have received the indwelling Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth and show you the things to come. You have been given the power to do the same things that Jesus did and even greater things. You have been given the ability to speak things into existence. You have been given His great and precious promises. Most Important, you have been given an eternal life with Him.
All He asks is that you make Him your King by believing and believing in Him.
(Psalm 103;1-3 and 12, Isaiah 53:4-5, John 1:29, 1Peter2:24, Hebrews 8:12, Hebrews 10;10-18, Revelations 1:5, 2Peter1:1-4, Matthew 8:16-17, John 16:13, John 14:12-14, Mark 11:22-24, John 3:16-18)
So doesn’t it seem only reasonable that we try to do things to thank Him, like feeding His starving sheep His Words?
Here is another way to look at this. We all scurry about doing what is necessary to survive and succeed in this earthly life. Almost always to the exclusion of our heavenly lives.
I heard an evangelist say, “That man is so heavenly-minded that he is no earthly good.” This statement repulsed me, and I vehemently reject it. I do not believe that it is possible to be too heavenly-minded. The opposite is true of most people. Many of us are too earthly-minded to be focused on our eternal heavenly lives.
The older we get, the more we know for certain that this temporary existence is but a wisp of smoke. It is no more than a blink of an eye. Our heavenly lives are forever and ever. Shouldn’t we invest more in our permanent home than this rapidly expiring one?
A MESSAGE FROM THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!
“Do not gather and heap up and store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust and worm consume and destroy and where thieves break through and steal.
But gather and heap up and store for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust nor worm consume and destroy, and where thieves do not break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there will your hearts be also.”
(Matthew 6:19-21)
Those of you, our faithful giving supporters, are checking all of the boxes. You are helping us feed the world’s malnourished people by making our work possible; in so doing, you are blessing the least of these His children and Him personally. We are truly grateful to Him and to you, His faithful servants. Your rewards in heaven are very great.
How will they call on him whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
(Romans 10:8-15)
