HOW TO WIN THE EPIC BATTLE WE WERE BORN INTO!
It all started when Lucifer, God’s greatest creation besides Himself, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, chose to try to become greater than God and provoked a rebellion in heaven. One-third of the other angels joined him.
It was the definition of insanity. Lucifer had everything. He was the most beautiful, charming, powerful, intelligent, and famous angel. He was God’s pride and joy. He was God’s guardian. God gave him His back. Lucifer was the angel of music. Yet, it was not enough for him. He wanted more. That is the temptation that we all face. “Enough is never enough for one for whom enough is not enough.”

Thus, the rebellion that began the war that we were born into. Greed and Ego caused Lucifer and his rebellious angels to be thrown to earth as a bolt of lightning by Jesus. God called him a heap of ashes, the result of his fall. He has no power left except to lie and cause humans to come into agreement with him and carry out his evil musings. Jesus called him the father of all lies. He is not very smart, as demonstrated by the fact that he went to war with God, but he is proficient at getting humans to listen to and agree with him and is persistent.
The weapons of this war are belief and unbelief. The battle is for our agreement. God has given us the free will to choose what we hear and agree with: Our flesh, which often listens to the evil one, the evil one, God the Father, Holy Spirit, Jesus, and His Words. Our choices shape the outcome of this battle.
(Exodus 30:19)
Jesus and His Words are the only Truth. Any words or thoughts that deny or contradict the teachings of Jesus are lies and agree with the evil one. These contrary words lead to destruction and lead to spiritual and physical death. The Words of Jesus lead to life and eternal life.
So, the battle is within us. Paul, led by Holy Spirit, instructed us to put on the whole armor of God in our fight:
“And finally, Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might! Put on the whole armor of God, for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily armed soldier so that you can successfully stand up against all the schemes, strategies, and deceits of the devil.
Because our struggle is not against flesh and blood contending only with physical opponents, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly supernatural places.
Therefore, put on the complete armor of God so that you can resist and stand your ground in the evil day successfully. Having done everything the crisis demands, stand firm in your place, fully prepared, immovable, and victorious.
So stand firm and hold your ground, having tightened the broad band of Truth (The Words of Jesus) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness ( it is a big old sign that puts the evil one on notice that because we believe and believe in Jesus, we have been found not guilty and are in right standing with God it wards off guilt and shame. Two of the evil one’s favorite weapons.), and having strapped on your feet the gospel of peace (The Words of Jesus. The Good News Of Great Joy Which Shall Be To All People. To be used to stomp on snakes and serpents.) in preparation to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news.
Above all, lift the shield of Faith, with which you can extinguish ALL the flaming arrows of the evil one. (The shield of Faith is the gift of the Faith of Jesus freely given to those who choose to believe and believe in Him. It is a defensive weapon.) And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
(Ephesians 6:10-18)
The helmet of salvation is acceptance of eternal salvation and all of Jesus’ blessings and great and precious promises resulting from believing in Jesus.
THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT IS THE GOSPEL OF JESUS. IT IS AN OFFENSIVE WEAPON TO BE USED TO CHOP THE EVIL ONE TO PIECES. IT IS THE GOSPEL OF JESUS.
IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO FIGHT THE EVIL ONE. JESUS HAS ALREADY DEFEATED HIM! HE GAVE US THE POWER TO MUTE HIM. The only power satan has is to lie. We defeat him by rejecting his lies.
One of those promises is that we have been given the power to stomp on the evil one and all of his.
Check this out. Jesus was the one who threw satan to earth. Here is His promise to us:
“I saw satan fall like lightning (at the speed of light) from heaven. Pay attention! I have given you authority to walk on serpents and scorpions (the evil one and his minions) and over all of the enemy’s power, AND NOTHING SHALL HURT YOU! “
(Luke 10:18)
It is very easy to discern the lies of the evil one. If it is a negative thought or contradicts the Words of Jesus, it is the voice of the stench in God’s nostrils.
ALL OF THE WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE ADD UP TO ONE: BELIEF!
When we believe in Jesus, no weapon of any kind that is forged against us can prosper. Especially those forged by old scratch.
(Isaiah 54:17)
EAT HIS FLESH, DRINK HIS BLOOD, KNOW THE TRUTH
Jesus taught us that unless we eat His flesh (Learn, Consume, Believe, and Act on His Words) and drink His blood (Believe beyond a doubt that Jesus guaranteed every Word He spoke with His blood), we have no life in us. (John 6:53)
Jesus taught us that if we continue in His Words (Live in them, learn them, believe them, make them the most critical thing in our lives), we are indeed His disciples, and we will know the Truth, and the Truth will make us free.
Free from what? Free from the bondage of our flesh minds. Free from the negative and stinking thinking and lies of the evil one. Free from fear. Free from doubt. Free from worry and anxiety. Free from dead works. Free from guilt and shame. Free from low self-esteem. Free from fear of failure. Free from unbelief.
(John 8:31)
DON’T FORGET THE ANGELS:
God has put legions of angels at our disposal for spiritual warfare. Check out this declaration from Jesus to Peter:
“Don’t you know I can call on My Father, and He will immediately provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?”
(Matthew 26:53)
Combine that with this:
“Solemnly I tell you; WHOSOEVER steadfastly believes in me, the works that I do shall he do also and even greater than these shall he do because I go to My Father.”
(John 14:12)
THE BATTLEFIELD IS OUR HEARTS AND MINDS.
Pay very close attention to this teaching from Jesus. He promises us that what we allow into our hearts and minds dictates the entire direction, events, and course of our lives. What we choose to hear and believe can bless us or curse us.
(Deuteronomy 30:19)
Never forget this urgent warning from the King of Kings:
“The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
(Luke 6:45)
WE MUST GUARD OUR HEARTS AND MINDS!
Because out of our heart, our mouth speaks, good or evil, and we will have what we believe, good or evil, as long as we do not doubt in our hearts that what we say will come to pass! That is a declaration from God Himself in the person of Jesus.
“And Jesus answered them, “Have Faith in God. Truly, I say to you, WHOEVER says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.
(Mark 11:22)
Here is an example of how this works: you get a cold. The evil one speaks into your mind that you are getting pneumonia. You choose to believe his lie. You believe in your heart without doubt that you are catching pneumonia. You say that you are catching pneumonia. You will catch pneumonia because you believe it.
More evil deposits: I am not good enough. I will never have more than I have now. I can’t do it. I am not smart. Nobody loves me. Thoughts that judge and condemn others, hatred, bitterness, unforgiveness, blaming God, fearful thoughts, thoughts of impending doom, thoughts of hurting yourself or others.
Good deposits are positive thoughts and are the opposite of the evil thoughts cited.
Do not get the idea that you are the only one who stepped in it by believing without a doubt a lie from satan.
Adam and Eve had everything. They were the role model for how we are when we believe Jesus. They moved at the speed of thought. They had dominion over everything around them. If they wanted something, it was theirs. They walked in the cool of the evening.
God warned them not to partake of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil. He warned them of the consequences of disobeying His warning.
Satan lied to them, bringing the Word of God into question as he does to this very day. It happens even from pulpits and religion. The evil one used his favorite weapon on them, saying, ‘Surely He did not say.’
A few examples for today: “Surely He did not say that you can do the same things that He did and even greater than these.” “Surely the Word does not say that God has already given us all things that pertain to life and godliness.” Surely the Word does not say He has already healed all our diseases.” Surely the Word does not say God has forgiven and forgotten every sin you have ever committed.”
(John 14:12, 2Peter1:1-4, Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:16-17, Psalm 103:1-3 and 12, John 1:29, Hebrews 8:12, Hebrews 10:10-18, Revelation 1:5)
HERE IS THE POINT:
We were born into this war. It was not of our choosing. It will continue until Jesus rules everything. We can ignore it and suffer. We can give in and lose. We can stand and fight with the weapons God has given us and win, win, win. Remember this: The Joy of the Lord is our strength.
When we are strong, it makes God happy. Our happiness also comes from His strength.
“Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.“
(Nehemiah 8:10)
